Hey, ldanred, did you ever name your team?
I have no record of it.

If you didn't, choose one. Just pick the first thing you see like . . . Gatorade Bottles
or
Stupid Building Next Door
or
Curt Schilling Bobblehead

Ok, so this is what [i:bf99f337af][b:bf99f337af]I [/b:bf99f337af][/i:bf99f337af]see, but you get the point. :P

Away from Web access for 3 days

Postby bkeat23 » Sat May 02, 2009 8:33 am

I'll be unable to access the Internet from sometime Thursday morning around 8 or so, until the wee hours of Sunday morning.

I will be able to check my work email via phone. I have limited Web access on the phone, but these boards don't work.

If someone could send me the status of current bids maybe twice a day, morning and evening, I could keep up and make bids. I don't expect we'll be in draft mode by then.

I'll send my work email via PM to keep it away from crawlers mining the web for email addys.

Thanks :D

[quote:406489ba5e="bkeat23"]First meeting's a webcast, so I can ,multitask.

Once this league starts, anyone interested in starting another draft right away? $60M would be interesting. :D[/quote:406489ba5e]

I'm into starting another any time. I'm not too sure about 60 mill though. I don't think it would make much of a difference. It will just make the bidding go up in lower increments I think. I'd like to try another though and hopefully learn from my mistakes.

I am up for another. DonFESQ looks tough with all those lefties and now piling up the 9+ mill starters for minimum bids.

I'm up for another. I don't think it really matters where we put the cap because we'll adjust ourselves as we've done here and ultimately all the top tier players get claimed.

Why not make it $200 mil???

Hey, $50 mil for Ruth!!!!

$10 mil for Buck Martinez!!!

Definitely up for another, but let's get this one underway first! And I think in order to actually take advantage of the lessons learned in this league we should try the same cap in round 2!

Sigh . . . :(

I was away for three days with the family - no Internet. It was a good weekend, good family time. Wouldn't trade it, but . . .

My two active Strat teams were a combined 8-10, not horrible for a small sample, but very mediocre nonetheless.

Then I check here and find that a player I had been holding out for was not only put on the block but also awarded during this time - I never had a chance to bid. And he went for the opening bid. Oh well. Guess I gotta figure out an alternative for that guy.

And I am totally in for another go around after this one is over.

I'll be possibly feeling your pain. I'll be offnet from Thursday AM to Sunday AM. I only have one team active, so I won't lose 10 games in 3 days like you did:lol:

Went to Cape Cod and I didn't bring my laptop because I knew the motel we wer staying at di not have WiFi. The only place that looked like an Internet Cafe near the motel was not open for the season yet. Oh well.

It was good time nonetheless. My almost-3-year-old son enjoyed playing on the beach (LOVES the beach), trying mini golf, "swimming" in the indoor pool at the motel, lounging in the hot tub, and playing at the Cape Cod Children's Museum. Of course I and my boy's mommy had fun too.

The only drawback (other than no strat  ) was my son got a fever, which kept him home from child care today - and today was going to be a date-day for wife and me (our wedding anniversary today #7) :(

And I've had crap Internet connection (satellite Internet here in the hills of NH) because of weather today, so I have had little chance to check all my Strat stuff today.
