Too much time on my hands...

Postby hackra » Mon Feb 01, 2010 6:18 pm

Had the day off today, and spent some time reviewing the picks to see who had the highest payroll or if there was any chance the $200 million cap would come into play (it might!)

by my calculations (they may be wrong...so recheck if you think it matters)-
The current payrolls top to bottom -
#1) mjruth $132.05 on 14 players (must average under 6.17 per player or will need to use cheaper versions to stay under $200 mil)
#2) Mr. Baseball World (also "Mr. deep pockets" with over $27 mil left to bid) $125.93 on 15 players
#3) DHowser $118.9 on 14 players
#4) CATom $111.39 on 16 players
#5) miduar $110.52 on 15 players
#6) joekendal $103.25 on 14 players
#7) gorshar $100.7 on 11 players
#8) BobBoone $97.33 on 11 players
#9) hackra(ldanred) $96.24 on 11 players
#10) litangel $82.9 on 9 players
#11) jet40 $82.37 on 9 players
#12) getowtamypot $76.79 on 9 players

best of evenings to everyone - I just checked out Ken Burns' Baseball DVD set from the library and hope to talk my wife and son into watching with me after dinner 8-)

Nope, can't do this. It was decided before the auction that for the purposes of determining the $200 mil limit, the highest carded value would be used, but once play begins, managers can use any card they want and even exchange them during the season.

Thanks for clarifying...I wasn't aware of that until just now. Would it be helpful for me to try to keep giving updates on roster values?

Mossi

Postby gorshar » Mon Feb 01, 2010 8:39 pm

Don Mossi - 0.55

For the sake of clarification, although Mossi's higher card value (5.47) must be used for determining the $200 mil limit, the winner can choose to use his lower value reliever only card towards the three pure reliever draft requirement. The same rule was applied to Bob Shawkey who was chosen earlier.
