[quote:f968cd6ed9="rosenthm"]The Braves need two players (Def 1) not carded to the franchise. A 1B and a 3B. Ive found 3 or 4 of each but just hoping they aren't protected or nabbed by someone else in the draft or autodraft.[/quote:f968cd6ed9]
I have found at least one 1B to whom you will have exclusive rights during the supplemental draft and one 3B to whom you will have completely exclusive rights in the autodraft.

[quote:f968cd6ed9="rosenthm"]The 500 AB makes it even harder. The 500 AB don't have to be in the same season, do they?[/quote:f968cd6ed9]

No. The AB/IP requirements apply to the player's career, not an individual season.

Anyone else having this dilemma?

Postby majicmg » Tue Jan 06, 2009 12:42 pm

[b:db9a70960b]Sorry guys, after doing my research, I don't feel that the fielding restriction gives the Cubs a fair chance to compete.[/b:db9a70960b]

There are only TWO carded outfielders eligible on the entire roster, Monday in center and Cuyler in right, and there's only ONE eligible left fielder, Jimmy Shackerd, and he's carded to the Dodgers. Including those three, there are only two other 1 outfielders ever to play for the Cubs who could start on my team -- Ashburn and Callison of the Phillies.

Cuyler is also a 1 in LF. If you can't get the carded Dodger LF (Sheckard), Cuyler can play LF, Monday or Ashburn can play CF, and Callison can play RF.

Callison is carded to the Phillies, but they aren't in this event. He also played with the White Sox, Cubs, and Yankees, but only had 500+ ABs with the Cubs, so you can draft him in the supplemental draft.

Ashburn is also carded to the Phillies (not in this event). The only other team he played for is the Cubs. He had 500+ ABs with the Cubs, too, so you can take him in the supplemental draft or the autodraft.

I'll double check my lists when I get home to see if there are any other guys you can consider.

Aero, I'm sure you meant that the Phillies AREN'T in this event, which makes my complaint moot. Consider it withdrawn, and I'll post a list of protected players shortly. :)

Yes, that's what I meant. Besides, I have just arrived home and checked my lists. I've found 2 other non-carded ex-Cubs.

HINTS: One eligible for CF, and one eligible for LF and CF. Both ex-All Stars. One is an ex-MVP and ROY.

Some teams are going to have some pretty bad players at starting spots. It should make this event all the more interesting. My team should excel with George McBride at SS.

2cityfan has the best record of completed leagues so far, so I gave Cubs48 the tie breaker.

However, let's not get too excited about this supplemental draft yet. Errormagnate still has to load his team from Event 6, and several managers have yet to declare their protected players. It may be a few days before we're ready for the supplemental draft.
