I downloaded the Ratings Disk ($15.50) from SOM yesterday. So I have the park numbers but I don't recall them being shown on the forum before the game comes out. Copyright and all that.

That said, there is a tradition when the disk comes out of managers asking one question about a player they are interested in. For example, how many hits does player A have vs. RHP or what is the steal rating of player B..... If you want to post a question I'll (or maybe someone else who has the info) answer them when I get home tonight.

As always with rule changes, if a super-majority of 8 managers wants to delay round 41, then that's okay with me.

So far, I do not see 8 managers concerned about this, so we will go ahead with round 41 as originally planned.

If you sincerely want to hold off on round 41 and have not commented yet, please do so ASAP.

Well, if the ratings disks are out, and show the ballpark ratings, some of us are at a disadvantage, as not everyone (including me) purchases it. So now what's at issue is a slight advantage for those purchasing the disk. So the argument of our "use of knowledge" as being a "key point" no longer exists. Until EVERYONE has access to the information, I can't see how we can continue with selecting ballparks.

Granted, this will probably be a moot point as I'm sure this information will become public knowledge sooner rather than later. But until such time, there is in fact an advantage to holding such information.

And btw, I already have the ballpark ratings, so I'm not pleading the case for myself.

Ditto.

The great majority of the parks are very similar to 2009. Hitters parks are still hitters parks. Same for pitchers parks. But, two parks turned lefty slanted for BPHR's. Petco is back, but not in San Diego. Citi Field is quite different.

Since we can only change parks every 3 years it would seem initial park selection should be made after the game comes out.
