Old League Games II

Postby ArtemusRex » Thu Dec 03, 2009 3:29 pm

Well my team was winning about one win a night. My pitching was getting pounded to double digits in ERA and 2+ in WHIP. So I did the big stratomatic sin and dropped some players (probably shedding 1-1.5mil in salary). Looks like it worked b/c I am only two games back of .500 and the team is otherwise found its footing. Even if it doesn't get me in the playoffs, every win gets you a point in the overall standings over 5 seasons.

Predictions Update Time

Postby Jeepdriver » Mon Dec 07, 2009 9:36 am

It's Monday, 42 games (2 weeks) into the season, time to take a look at the predictions I posted pre-season. Immediately below are my predictions:

EAST
Ugly Mugs
Yankees Win
Ambushers
Numray

CENTRAL
Red Tide
High Honors
Astros
League

WEST
Expos
Damn Yankees
Ishtar
Redheads

On the next post are the Actual Standings

EAST
Ugly Mugs
Yanks Win
Ambushers
Numray

The latter two are tied, but this was dead-on.

CENTRAL
Red Tide
High Honors
League
Astros

Only difference is 3 and 4 are inverted. League is a little better than I thought (at this point) and Astros are a little worse.
I was also dead-on in predicting this would be the toughest Division, and it is by far.

WEST
Expos
Damn Yanks
Ishtar
Redheads

There's a 3-way tie for 2nd, but again, this was a dead-on prediction.

In conclusion, I say in all humbleness you all are real close to playing as I expected. Biggest surprise to me is League, who is holding their own even in a most difficult Division.

Obviously still a long way to go, almost 6 weeks, so anything can happen. Good Luck everybody going forward.

Well, Jeep, as the manager of League, I would like to take a slight bow for your acknowledgement of my team's performance thus far.

Only about a quarter of the way through the season though...seas could get choppy!

Although I do think Joe McEwing and Fred McGriff have somehow switched bodies...check out their stats.

However, except for the #8 & #9 spots, all other ceedes are set as of now:

[u:20a0049418][b:20a0049418]CENTRAL[/b:20a0049418][/u:20a0049418]

KEYZICK

I'll set up the league and we can begin filling now. Bomberny and Paul will have to wait until Monday, however, to see exactly which division they are in (in case of a tie, we'll use head to head as the 1st tie breaker).
