Yes, I think at this point it's too late to go back and redraft from Pirhala's spot. If someone wants to voluntarily give up their pick and take the 12th slot we could do that (if you want TB pitchers I'll give them up). If you kept the 12th spot I could give you a compensatory pick in the player draft or 1st stadium choice (using your 7th rd pick). Don't forget the player draft is straight, not serpentine.

Had I known Pirhala was going to be AWOL I would have stopped draft at his pick, I wanted to get things finished up to him and figured he would check in by yesterday.

I will give up the Boston Pitching staff if it will help bring this issue to closure!

Thank You

blackjack - Crap happens. You didn't do anything wrong - the league was set up and ran relatively smoothly. Sometimes life gets in the way and owners can't keep their commitments.

We'll get another owner. I do NOT expect any owner to give up their pick (STL or SD in this case) that is rightfully their pick to bring someone in - that's their prerogative.

[quote:c7dd71ef5f="Delbird"]Hopefully Pirhala checks in soon - it has been quite a long time, hopefully all is well.

If a sub becomes necessary, I would hope it will be someone comfortable with the existing league rules. There are some selling points for the team -

1. Phillies hitters - not a bad group with Werth, Ruiz, Howard, etc.
2. Option to swap out Phillies hitters for another available group
3. Chance for a top pick in each round of the 4 player draft - with the ability to control how high up you pick with how you select the pitching staff
4. Availability during preseason to pick up any other undrafted free agents to round out the team - from 18 unselected teams...that's a lot of players
5. Decent pitching staffs available still - Washington with Strasburg and a strong bullpen, NY Mets with Santana, Dickey and others, even Seattle gets you Hernandez (top SP in the set) plus some serviceable SP's and a couple bullpen guys along with an even higher draft pick

So I would think someone out there would be willing to take the opportunity if it becomes necessary, given all of these options.[/quote:c7dd71ef5f]

Great post. This league is different than the prior league. The prior league gave you 6 teams of players to choose from - this one offers (basically) 18 teams of players inclufing King Felix, Miggy Cabrera, Jose Bautista, A-Gon, Jimenez, Jered Weaver....hell, I'm re-thinking my position now.

Okay im reconsidering. Are CHW hitting really available as it says at the bottom of blackjacks post? Anyway we can slim down the players to 10 from 15 you have to keep active from your drafted franchise? Could i get one pplayer pick before we start rd 3?

* That's a mistake - the White Sox pitchers are available - not the hitters.

* The 15- player rule, Ducapa, needs to stay.

* I am open to an extra player - call it a supplemental draft pick, but not that early - maybe before a later round...IMO.

Replacement Owner

Postby travelingjack » Tue Sep 20, 2011 10:24 am

Due to real life issues we had one owner drop out. Previous owner selected Philadelphia hitters, new owner will have the option of keeping Philly hitters or taking an undrafted team's hittters. Replacement will then choose an undrafted pitching staff. Your draft position in the four player + stadium draft will be determined by the total salary of your two team picks. Player/stadium draft order is straight, not serpentine so a top pick in this draft will be more valuable than usual.

Replacement owner will also receive either (their choice): a compensatory pick in the player draft, will be the 13th overall player pick (sandwiched between 3rd and 4th rd); or 1st choice in the stadium draft (stadiums can be selected anytime from rd 3-7, you would use your 7th for the stadium if you chose this).

Here are some other points about this situation, courtesy of Delbird:

Rounds 3-7 of the draft will be on Stratdraft, it will be free for the new owner for this draft.

You guys drive a hard bargain, but considering the 2nd rd. Pick got skipped and now is last cant u do better than an extra pick after the 5th rd? Im loosing out on alot ofgood pitchers here so the 1st pick helps me even it out somewht but doesnt really hurt anybody else all that much. Im in if u can do that.

We lots of other owners here that need to heard from before we offer extra players - the draft picks are consistent with the teams that you use - one supplemental draft pick (13th overall) is a pretty good deal considering the vast talent pool available.
