Seemed to have hurt sandlot's feelings refusing to trade you Vargas. After all, you did ask for him on three separate occassions.
While you older generation people might consider Martinez a liability, I see ways he can be used you obviously do not see. He is the best catcher in the deck.
Personally, we always would rather have the guy we already own than the other guys catcher. part of human nature for the baby boomers. I prefer Redmond, myself. We all have our preferences.
I have won championships using an offense catcher as backup and DH, like a couple of years ago when Ivan Rodriguez had an awesome card but a "4" rated injury. My second catcher was Mike Piazza who did well as DH and filling in for Ivan as catcher. Such creativity can be fun. I see you agree that Javier has better defense, which eliminates his usefulness as a DH since his price includes that.
I stand by the fact that this is a fun game, whether you win or lose, and one can try many strategies to accomplish the same purpose. For some, it is winning and for others, like me, it is having fun.
Team chemistry is important, and I stand on the fact that four of the five starting pitchers I intend to use are not tradeable. That includes Jason Vargas. sandlot, you are rude and combatant in your PMs, and I will not be intimidated by your kind. I intend to no longer respond to your rantings on this message board or in any PM. You can have the last word here, and no matter how much you whine, Vargas is not tradeable.
I will have the last word on the playing field.
