active managers

Postby LMBombers » Tue Sep 05, 2006 5:35 am

Wouldn't you know it.......Penn's website is up all weekend when Crabby is unavailable and right when Crabby is probably ready to pick (or at least on the clock) the site goes down. :(

While we are on the subject of mangers...Now that we are past the holiday weekend, should we come to a manager, in the 1st round, that doesn't make his pick, or let us know what is up, for 48 HRs we will have to replace him per AT's earlier stated rule. I think we should hold up the draft until we find that replacement rather than skip him while we are looking.

We very well could encounter a manager that signed up that may not want to participate any longer, or is unable to participate for some reason. (Not counting AT or ehlekev who I know are in, there were 10 other managers that did not vote.) We probably should be soliciting a couple of alternates that are ready to step in if needed so that we are not slowed down. How easy is it to replace an owner in an existing draft on Penn's site? Hopefully not too difficult.

These comments in no way relate to Crabby Appleton in particular. Some of us actually have real lives and family obligations, especially on holiday weekends. 8)

Yes, I see my confusion. I totally mis-read your initial post. Sorry for the attitude.

Sorry guys, been out for awhile. Doesn't look like I've missed much except for a major vote. I am going to go ahead and vote for OPTION E.

Option E = Ehlekev gets the 1st pick for each of the 25 rounds and Ehlekev also gets access to all remaining free agents for himself and no one else. 8) 8)

If for some reason other guys don't choose option E, I guess I will go ahead pick Option C.

*****However, if I may be so bold to put in my 2-cents worth.....I believe everyone should choose their 25 players (can't ever drop) while the rest of the Free Agents would be considered "generic". This means that each of the 3 leagues could pick up these generic players in a mini-frenzy. If we continue to a second round "winners" league, these generic FAs are not eligible to transfer to the new league. They get thrown out. This, in my mind, would give everyone a little flexibility and there really isn't anything for anyone to manage.*****

You would constantly have to be managing what "free agents" are actually on a team in another league (drafted in the 26 rounds) and which ones weren't. I think that would be a pain to keep up with your pickups as well as everyone else's to make sure they didn't pick up someone they shouldn't by mistake.

Actually, as we have done in a couple other leagues, the Penngray site is the holder of the available free agents. No one is allowed to pick up a player unless he is available after the draft on the Penngray site. This way, all 3 leauges at one time know exactly who is available to pick up.
