Sorry for the delay today...
had work to do, doctor's appointment, trade talks... oh, which reminds me...
NEW HAMPSHIRE — He hasn't even had time to unpack his bags and Red Rolfe was on the move again as Whoa Mama traded the veteran third basemen, who they had just acquired from Diamond Chefs.
Rolfe and starting pitcher Roger Clemens are now headed to New Hampshire Primaries for leadoff star 2B Joe Morgan and 3B Harry Steinfeldt.
"It was a difficult decision to part with Morgan, who is a class act and great hitter, but we felt the addition of Rolfe improved the core of a lineup that must play 81 games in The Stadium," said Primaries GM Palanion.
Morgan hit .317 last season with 130 runs scored and 67 SB. Steinfeldt had recently been acquired by New Hampshire from Munich.
Rolfe hit .284 with 20 HR, 93 runs and 84 RBI last year with Chefs. Clemens, the number 2 pitcher behind Pete Alexander, finished last season 12-19 with a 2.84 ERA and 250 K.
