First of all, I really can't tell you why exactly I grew up a Dodgers fan. All I know is that I rooted for them as long back as I can remember. As for where I live, I live in Atlanta. Which definitely gets people wondering how the heck I could like the Dodgers. I have slowly developed an ambivalence towards the Braves (helps that they're not in the same division any more) but I still dislike Cincy. I think the personalities on the team just rubbed me wrong enough that the dislike is embedded in my soul.

I second Guardian's point about the Bucs' sad moments and especially the great rivalry in the 70's with the Big Red Machine. Actually, Moose's wild pitch was in '72; I was in high school but also working for my local newspaper. I had to leave to get to work there before the game ended but was confident we would hold the lead. When I walked into the newsroom I saw the sports editor standing over the AP wire machine transmitting that grainy picture of Bench hitting the homer with the story following about Moose's wld pitch. Shock and dismay all around.

At least among my friends at the time the proximate cause of hatred of the Reds was Pete Rose; his antics just drove us nuts.

1992 is a different story -maybe if Bonds had already gotten into the juice he could have thrown Bream out at home!

i'm at work, but i'll try to get a team in today or tomorrow - pretty happy with the Brave franchise - Maddux, Niekro, Spahn and Clarkson in the rotation with a pretty good lineup including Brouthers, Mathews, Murphy, Aaron and Horner.....should score some runs! Just finishing the final touches.....Tom.
