Jack's Family & Friends 2006 - In Season Updates

Postby Jack377 » Sat Apr 08, 2006 6:26 pm

Who's up for sharing? :)

Edmonds, Giambi, Pettitte, Chipper Jones, and either Hideki Matsui or Randy Johnson I think were my top 5...

My top five were Santana, Ortiz, Teixera, Cabrera and Utley. If I get Johan I'm very happy.

My manager rating in that league compared to you guys is depressing. But I guess if the White Sox won last year then anything can happen.

Don't sweat the Manager's Ratings...quality can overcome quantity in a pinch...

The manager ratings are for entertainment purposes only. I consider them some of the funniest jokes since Sam Kinison was still alive.

Beaulahs, Prisoners Complete Pre-Waivers Deal

Postby Jack377 » Sun Apr 09, 2006 9:21 am

Grove City and Orleans Parrish consummated the first deal of the season today with the Beaulahs shipping Jason Tyner to the Prisoners for young Taiwanese standout Chien Ming Wang.

Journeyman reliever Rick White and young 3rd Baseman Mark Teahen changed addresses as well to make the cap numbers work. Neither is expected to make the big league rosters of their new clubs.

Orleans Manager Johnny Cash is expected to plug Tyner into the top of the lineup against RH pitching and use him in RF--for now. Cash said, "We definitely like Tyner's speed and ability to get on base against RH pitching but we're always looking to deal and upgrade."

Wang will slide neatly into the Grove City Rotation for TRich.

Bullydogs and Return Deal

Postby Jack377 » Mon Apr 10, 2006 9:38 am

The Las Vegas Bullydogs shipped ace 2nd Baseman Luis Castillo and troubled Pitcher Sidney Ponson to the Outlaws Return for RF Geoff Jenkins and SP/RP Jeff Fassero in another pre-waivers deal.

Castillo had been actively shopped by the Bullydogs, who have Brian Roberts slotted into 2B, and will now anchor the infield defensively for the Outlaws Return while Jenkins is another strong lefthanded bat tailor made for Las Vegas' PNC Park.

Smashers Stockpile SPs

Postby Jack377 » Mon Apr 10, 2006 9:44 am

Smashers Manager Young Squire T obviously subscribes to the theory that you can never have enough quality starting pitching, obtaining AJ Burnett (for Jay Seo) from the Isotopes yesterday. The Smashers now have 7 quality SPs  capable of pitching more than 200 innings--and are the envy of many other teams in the league as a result.
