A more interesting tidbit is I have the 5th best record in the league, but am 4th in my division. I tried my best to throw the division into tizzy with a sweep last night of the Tigers, and that was without Pedro or Muldar pitching. I play those Crastinators in thoer park tonight. Can I keep them out of the playoffs. We shall see.

Can Gonzalez get to 70 HR????
Can Martinez get to 50 HR to make him the 4th on my team to that mark???

Still does not get me into the playoffs.

Well the playoffs have finally arrived. Kudos to Dr. Tax for winning 8 of his last 9. It is nice to see how dominant the West performed, alas too bad only 2 teams could make the playoffs.

I've been in 200x & ATG leagues before where I've missed the playoffs with 90-92 wins, so I sort of know how Dr. Tax is feeling.

I think I've have preferred playing the Crastinators, maybe because of the way I finished against them, but the playoffs are a whole new season and hopefully I won't fall flat on my face vs. Tigers.

While I'll do my team awards after the playoffs, I will state that Shawn Green proved me right in sticking with him despite a slow start as he finished quite strong and joined the 100 Run / 120 RBI Club (5 members! ). Point being, if you're relatively sure of what to expect from a player in a specific park - stick with him regardless of how slow he started. Of course it did not hurt that I have other slugger start off red-hot to cover the slack. ;)

Well I did get my wish. I don't take any opponent lightly. It shouls be an interesting series against the Carjackers because they are a Miller team and I have no real SP who is deadly effective against a team of LH hitters.

Well my worries came true ... lost 2 to the Tigers and need to win out to advance, which I suspect will not be likely. :(

Congratulations to akindian and his Tigers on advancing to the Finals.

Thats the 2nd consective time I've had a New Comiskey Park squad finish with the best record and fall flat in the Semis. :(

Maybe third time will be the charm ... :?

Congratulations to the Tigers for winning their semifinal series. Lamentations to AT for a quick exit. Congratulations to AT on a great regular season in a tough division.

HAL Meltdown Last Night: My team has a 5-2 lead going into the bottom of the 8th inning. The Carjackers load the bases last night with Richie Sexson at bat. HAL lifts Mike DeJean after facing only one batter who gets on base after an error. Rather than keep DeJean in the game or replace him with Matt Anderson who is lethal against RH batters, HAL goes to his favorite reliever John Rocker. Sexson hits a 3-run triple on his 1-6 Triple (1-3) roll. Net result: I have a Game 5 date with Randy Johnson. Lucky me.

My team beat the Big Unit last night in a Game 5!!! I did do well against the Unit in 2001. Mussina matched him pitch for pitch and my team won it in extra innings.

My record in the semifinal series is now 33 wins and 26 losses.

My record in the championship finals is 18 wins and 15 losses.

My record against the Tigers was 4-5. I took 2 out 3 from the Tigers playing at home while going 2-4 on the road. Mike Mussina won all 3 of his starts against the Tigers. However, since I had to use him in Game 5, he can only go Game 3 and if necessary Game 7. That is not a good omen.

A good omen is the fact that I have won the last 10 championship finals in which my team has played. Rather remarkable is the fact that my record in the finals was a poor 8 and 15 prior to winning those 10 consecutive championship finals.

Congratulations to the Tigers on an impressive playoff performance going 7-0. Condolences to JKolak ... at least you got a credit out of it. Btw how many spots left in the current 01 league that you're in?
