Well I'm super pleased with my draft:

Got 20 of 25 and 4 of those 5 missed are back-ups. The only position I didn't get was LF (Floyd).

That said, I have no excuse if I don't win, do I?

I'm pretty OK with my draft. I love it when I can get both Pedro and Santana to send out to the mound every other game. My only '06 World Series winner had those two anchoring me all season.
My draft for hitting was hit and miss (pun intended). I have to hit the Waiver wire to fill in some spots. I refuse to have a JD Drew on my team! Someone told me they had great success with him. I used him in one league. By the 81 game mark, he had only played 40 games.

I'm a big Helton fan....but not in the '06 season. If you want him, let me know.
*Speaking of Helton, GenevaJack, it's good you are still using the CoorsRats theme. You probably average more runs per game overall than anyone who has played this game.

I won't be around for the mini-frenzy because I will be out of town. Basically, if I don't get the guys I want off waivers, I will have to pick up scraps on Monday. :(

Good to see that we have our own thread! :D Based on pre-draft postings it seems this will be a talkative group.

I am first in waiver priority, so that tells you how I did in the draft. I don't know about anyone else, but whenever I have a draft, I don't check my roster first to see my players. I check my waiver priority first to set my expectations (or to brace myself in this case).

One of baseball's axioms is to be strong up the middle. Given that I lost out on both catchers, my 2B, SS & CF selections, I wonder what are my chances for success?

Plus, I see that most teams are going the homer route with their stadiums. This could be a long season and a short tourney for me. But since it is my first 2006 team this will definitely be a learning experience.

I feel your pain, Doc. I only got one of my top 5 picks. The only reason I'm not first in waiver priority is that I got all the scrub relievers and backups I requested.

Our own thread!! Well, I got every starting position player I wanted, so I'm happy. I've always kicked myself for drafting a left fielder in 06 as there is always plenty to pick from in that group. Giles, Clark, ARod, Teixiera, and Ensberg as my 1 through 5. Oh my!

Pacoboy has an incredible staff, no? On one hand it's scary, but on the other hand maybe when we face his lineup, OUR staffs will pitch like his!

Good luck to all!!!
