Between autodraft and league start... we can (1) freely add/drop our players as long as we are dropping and adding from our "set" of teams, and (2) make as many trades with other managers as we'd like, as long as... 2a) we start the season with at least 20 players from our set, and 2b.) keep ANY AND EVERY player we get in trade during that time on the opening day roster. Is that correct? At no time during this period can any manager pick up from waivers any player not in your set (you can get those only by trade at this point).

After opening night... once 3 games completed, sometime the next night (a Tuesday), fluffy's vurtual whistle goes off signalling an unofficial frenzy period for our league where at that time ANY AND EVERY available free agent player can be added, subject to three things... (1) the usual salary penalty for dropping a player, (2) the 80M salasry cap of course, and (3) the requirement to at all times to have at least 20 players on roster from the player set. Is that correct?

Question...
- we can still trade during the season, as normal, right? as long as we keep at least 20 players on roster form original set.

Here's a key question... after making a trade we do have a chance to "fix" our rosters back to "minimum 20 players from set" rule, as long as NO ACTUAL GAMES are played while in violation... e.g. during the season, I have exactlly 20 players from my set on my roster... I can trade one away in a deal with another manager, as long as I go to the free agent pool via add/drops and get another new player onto my roster from my set... the trade would drop me to 19, then I'd drop a non-set player and pick up a set-player... I think that would be allowable, as long st the "fix" was done before that night's games... so no games are played while below 20, right?

Lastly, I'm assuming we'd monitor the min-20 from set requirement via the honor system, with occassional spot-checking after trades or add/drops during the season... correct?

A couple of points of interest..

hey jumboshrimpos... aka dyer straits... please see the rules above... you cannot pickup players from other sets (e.g. Tincup) until after game 3... until then, you can only add/drop from within your own set, or via trades, but then any traded player CANNOT be dropped until AFTER game 3

Is there going to be a time when the so called mini frenzy goes off.

DyerStraits... thanks for the very quick fixing of your roster :) . I know there are a lot of rules to keep track of, especially with the added energy of trying to learn all the new cards, and manage several drafting teams at the same time... so I appreciate y'all staying close to the boards.

FrankM... fluffy had posted some about this on the other thread... and it would be AFTER games 1-2-3.. which looks like it would thus be Tues Aug 15th... and fluffy had mentioned a possibility of 8PM ET. fluffy... do you want to confirm set the official day/time? we can't beleive it to be true unless it comes from the commisioner!

You got it right.

The "frenzy" will be 8pm ET on the tuesday following the first series, August 15th, I believe.

I've set the penalty at the standard 20%.

We might want to rethink that for later seasons. I had the option of setting up a graduated penalty of 5% for the first 10 games , 10% for thefirst 20 games and so on up to game 81, after which it went to 20%.

Also, some of you may be in favor of increasing to a 100 million league for season two.

I'm open to discussing any of these options.

Personaly, I tend to like the hard way, so I'm in favor of keeping the 20% penalty and keeping it at 80 million. But if the majority disagrees , I'll change it.

If you want the drop penalty to take effect the Frenzy should be Wednesday.
anytime after 10 p.m. drop can be made without penalty and original lineup will be played that night. Though this might be a loophole design for those first few set teams. I'm okay with a Tuesday 8 pm just wondered if this was considered.

drop penalty

No, I didn't know that at all. Thought the first penalty was on tuesday.

Well, for those that are making changes, I'd hate to make 'em wait for 6 games. I hate taking the pounding for the 3 games, much less 6.

So, for this season, let's stick with Tuse 8 ET.

BTW. I picked 8 ET to give the west coast time to get home from work, while keeping the time before the east coast goes beddy bye.

We could puch it back to 9, but I don't think we can bring it forward.
