Armchair General Managers -- Season 18 -- Chat

Postby doc x » Thu Nov 16, 2006 1:00 pm

Okay guys, check in at your earliest convenience. I'm glad that everyone will be able to give it a go for another season. Please post your keepers (up to $35 million) and indicate whether or not you plan on keeping your current stadium.

You can also do any trade talking that you want before you post keepers, etc. It will be interesting which players remain keepers and who become free agents.

The draft order will be determined when the season wraps up this Saturday. Here is how the 6 round draft will play out:

Draft will begin as soon as everyone gets their keepers posted and stadium intentions are declared. If you are picking a new stadium just do it in any round you wish when it's your turn to pick a player.

Rounds 1 and 2 worst to first.

Rounds 3-6 serpentine worst to first (the order in rounds 4 and 6 would be first to worst).

This gives a bit of an advantage to teams that didn't do as well in the previous season. But it doesn't severely penalize a team that has done well in the season.

I don't want to use a clock on the draft. Please do whatever you can to keep things moving, however (i.e. proxies, skips, phone calls, etc.). With only six rounds we ought to be able to knock this out in a day or two.

Here is the draft order for the upcoming six round draft:

1. Bullmcintosh [63]
2. Beasts [68]
3. Stlouisnathan [75]
4. Bobby [79]
5. JW [80]
6. JoeOC [82]
7. dr. x [82]
8. cb3137 [86]
9. McBain [86]
10. Coach P [87]
11. Minnie Minoso [91]
12. Chemosh [93]

The draft order (worst to first) is set according regular season record. If two teams have the same record, then head to head was the determining factor. The Torpedoes and Turkeys tied but the Turkeys had the better head to head record, hence Joe OC is listed before dr. x. The Owls and Boppers tied but the Owls had the better head to head record, hence cb is listed before McBain.

When everyone has posted their kepper lists and stadium intentions, then we'll get to drafting. I know there are a few managers exploring trades at this time, which is why some have not yet posted their lists.

Finally, congratulations to the Boppers, Blue Stockings, Lollygaggers, and Commandos on making the playoffs.
