i out hit hannemann and made fewer errors and he beats me 2 out of 3.

arrrggghhhh!!!!

my analysis says i didn't intentionally walk his big boppers. and should have.

so i want to increase the # of IBBs.

do i choose more agressive or more conservative under that category in manager strategy????

your guys can't possibly keep hitting and we all know it -- unless they're going up against my pitchers. maybe time for Grady Little to shake up the rotation a little. Anyone care to trade me some decent starting pitching?

Cold-war "domino theory" proven rightl

USA TODAY p. B1

Rumson, NJ --

Look out, the Reds are winning! (the Communist block, not the team from Cincinnati, of course). The Chinatown Comrades and the Cuban Stogies pulled off the mythical win-win transaction this week, as a result of which Cuban center fielder Vernon Wells and 2B sidekick and erstwhile free agent Orlando Hudson took over defensive duties for Chinatown, while Jeff Kent, Brady Clark, and legendary ace reliever Ray King (2005 WHIP a sparkling 1.55) pulled on the Cuban's worn-out, patched-together uniforms (originally issued c. 1955).

In tonight's series, the revamped Chinatown Comrades went 2-1 and gave up only 9 total runs, possibly a new record for that previously defensively-challenged team. Meanwhile, the Cubans routed the Rumson Stumblers like proletarian guerillas pursuing a panicked rabble of bourgeois mercenaries, taking [b:053ff87e09]all three[/b:053ff87e09] games. The Cuban victories were due in part to their new acquisitions King (who got a win in relief) and Kent and Clark (who had doubles and timely walks galore).

To the Rumson GM we say, did the Bay of Pigs teach you nothing? And to the Waffles and Foozles, look out; those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it.

hannemann talks raskin into rearranging his roster into a fiercesome monster team.

AND

tells the rumson runners to change its managerial strategy to maximize use of closer. this inexplicably causes the stupid computer to choose NOT to use tom's closer in all 3 games against the stogies. two of which went into extra innings and all 3 of which rumson runners led or were tied late (but it wasn't NECESSARILY a save situation).

the stogies sweep. makin is humiliated and goes on a free agent spree......
