Most of you have done live drafts before but for those that haven't, here are a few tips:

Buy your team before the draft! We once had had a manager whose credit card didn't go through when it was time to load teams which delayed the entire league a week. (It was a one time player and nobody from this group) The result was 11 unhappy managers!

Load as many backups or nickel players as you can before the draft. It will save time and give you a better idea how much money you have for your starting players.

Think positional players. Have 2nd and 3rd choices ready for every position. This is a burn game and believe me, it happens all too often! lol

If you might have to leave for a short time and you think you might miss your pick, send a proxy to myself or someone else before you go. The draft doesn't always go at the same pace for each round. Some rounds go very fast while others will go very slow.

If anybody can think of something I missed, please feel free to toss it in here! :wink:

As of my bed time (now), I'm still waiting on W. Canada, VA, KS and TX.
I'll be up bright and early to sort it all out and have the finished results posted. I saw the NJ numbers Bill. Ouch! I had MI once in Joe's LA-Z-BOY league hit 001!! I haven't seen anybody beat that one yet! :roll:

Thanks for doing the lotto lookup- I'd also checked #'s to validate, all look good.

Actually, if I'm not in the top 3-5, I'd rather have 12 and the double picks at the turn... of course having Frank Bailey pick right in front of me means I will likely spend my 10 min allotted time at the draft turn as follows...

1 minute staring in disbelief that he took the player I wanted
2 minutes exclaiming various versions of "weasel" for doing so
1 minute to finish a frosty
4 minutes scrambling to make different picks, based on no logic at all
1 minute to validate I'm the only in the history of live drafts to draft that player
1 minute to type the pick

All is well, I'm looking forward to Fridy's draft 8-)

Dugger? You and I have done a lot of live drafts together and this is the first time I can remember you getting a spot in the top 3! It's about time W. Canada came through for you! :lol: Bill, that is too funny! I only have two versions of weasel I use...CAPS, and no caps! :wink:
