League will use the ATG III Historical Version of SOM Game. 200mm CAP, Waiver

We will be using MajorDeegan's draft site (via som.draft or diamonddope.com) beginning as soon as draft order is settled, I will be using the midday pick 3 lottery from Saturday, March 29th as soon as we can post the results, the slow draft may begin. At this point for the first two rounds we will not have a clock. I am encouraging you guys to use the draft site. You can manually make picks or leave proxies. The engine could go fast, every five minutes it will make proxy picks, if a guy who is up to draft and does not have a proxy pick setup, then he can manually pick. If I leave the clock off, it is to allow you guys to carefully think through two very important picks. There after a three hour clock will be put into effect. Warning. If everyone does in fact use proxy picks, this engine could crank out a bunch of rounds per day, like 6-8 rounds in a day. We do have to keep up, check online three times per day so you can make adjustments.

Stadiums will be picked in the 26th round on the diamonddope website. ALL TEAMS will enter the league Friday evening the April 4th A waiver will follow. This will give everyone a chance to trade, barter, steal, cajole, pry players from one team to another. Opening day will be MONDAY April 7th.

There will be a THREE HOUR clock during the slo draft, no clock from midnight til 6am. Coaches MAY leave proxy picks with me to keep things moving. My cellphone number is 630-202-9593

League Opening Day will be Monday April 4th.

I would like to start Sunday March 30th, with NO CLOCK after checking lottery results. Clock will start at beginning of third round, three hour clock

When checking –in please make State Lottery Pick

Stadiums will be UNIQUE and picked during the FOURTH ROUND in conjunction with a player pick, No Duplicate Stadiums

We will use the midday pick on Saturday, some states may have only pick on the weekend.

I should have the site up by 8PM on Saturday

State Lottery Picks will be used to determine Draft Position. Highest (999) to Lowest,(000) ZERO being Low

Divisions Assignments by Draft Positions

EAST: 3,6,9,12

CENTRAL: 2,5,8,11

WEST: 1,4,7,10

Trades of players and picks are allowed; Make sure all trades are posted clearly for all managers to read. Please keep value exchanges equitable and reasonable so as to prevent squabbles and decisions having to be made on allowing the trade.

I know every possible situations is not covered in the rules but any decisions that have to be made will be made as fairly as possible

This is my usual request that I throw out there around this time every season, so apologies for the redundancy.

I really don't like drafting parks in round 26. If I build my team 1-25 and the park I want is gone, then my draft can be a mess.

I've done many drafts (most notably Barnstormers) where the draft is 26 rounds, and each player makes his own determination as to when in those 26 to draft a park. You want Wrigley '59? Better sacrifice a player pick in round 15 if you want it that bad. There's only one Dunn, so the same applies. You have to build your ballpark pick into your draft strategy, and it adds some fun to the complexity of the draft. It's also ultimately the most fair way to do it, because everyone has an equal opportunity for each park, but you have to make your own judgment as to when you want to pull the trigger.

Apologies to Coach. You set the rules, and this is hands down the best league going on Strat. File this under "suggestions for minor improvments," but I'll fully acknowledge that the final say goes to Dennis, whose judgement I trust 100%. In the big picture, it's not a big deal, but if I had to change one thing, it would be the round 26 ballpark picks.
