Inglourious Basterds - 2008 A.L. Only League
Posted: Sun Aug 30, 2009 9:13 pm
In keeping with our recent movie theme (just got done with "The Watchmen" and "Star Trek" leagues), the league name will be the Inglourious Basterds league. Optional team name theme: Something to do with Quentin Tarantino movies.
Only players listed with A.L. teams can be used.
Live 24-round draft on www.somdraft.com. Select 23 players there plus a unique A.L. stadium. Last two picks will be autodrafted. We give people three hours between 10 a.m and 10 p.m. Eastern time and are also off-the-clock on weekends, though in the past we've made considerable draft progress on weekends as well. (Not sure how we'll do with Labor Day weekend coming up.) We do give people more time for the first round to make sure everyone is on board.
Salary cap will be set at $73 million at all times. That is, you must have your 25-player autodraft roster come in at $73 million or less. (This is the average of the highest paid 168 A.L. hitters and highest paid 132 A.L. pitchers. You have been warned: There won't be much in the way of Free Agents available and those who choose "value players" in early rounds likely won't be able to spend all their money.)
If not specified, we will use the later Pick 3 draft for states that have two. Serpentine draft order will be determined by the numbers in descending order. For divisions, draft numbers will be reversed (i.e., "302" becomes "203") and the four lowest numbers will be grouped in the East, the next four in the Central, and the four highest in the West.
We'll use the numbers from Monday.
