2008 2-Team Combo League

Each of us will build a team from two 2008 MLB teams. Here are the specific rules:

[b:b7bd1057d8]Two-Round Draft [/b:b7bd1057d8]
There will be a 2-round serpentine draft, where you will pick one MLB team with each pick. The draft order will be determined with Pick-3 lottery picks (highest Pick-3 will have first and last draft pick) from [color=red:b7bd1057d8]Friday, September 25th[/color:b7bd1057d8]. For states with mid-day and evening Pick-3, the evening Pick-3 will be used.

[b:b7bd1057d8]Division Alignment[/b:b7bd1057d8]
Will be set by draft order, as 1,4,7,10 and 2,5,8,11 and 3,6,9,12.

[b:b7bd1057d8]Your Players [/b:b7bd1057d8]
You have complete access to all players on your two teams. Trading is allowed. All trades must be formal "Trade" transactions; in other words, you can't just post a message in the league saying two managers have agreed to trade so-and-so. If a player is traded and then released, he is still the property of the manager who traded for him. Players on the 6 undrafted teams are off-limits all season.

[b:b7bd1057d8]Your Stadium [/b:b7bd1057d8]
You must use a stadium from one of your drafted teams.

[b:b7bd1057d8]Your Team Name [/b:b7bd1057d8]
[u:b7bd1057d8]Do not[/u:b7bd1057d8] create your team on [i:b7bd1057d8]The Sporting News[/i:b7bd1057d8] Strat website until after our 2-round draft. For your team name Location, you must use the city of the team whose stadium you picked and the Nickname of your other team. For example, if you had the Yankees and Twins, you would be the “New York Twins” if you were using Yankee Stadium and “Minnesota Yankees” if you were playing at the Metrodome. This would make it very easy to scan the league standings and know who is who.

[b:b7bd1057d8]September Call-Ups [/b:b7bd1057d8]
After Game 120, you can call up some more players to help you down the stretch. See team payroll details below.

[b:b7bd1057d8]Your Team Payroll[/b:b7bd1057d8]
Effectively, you will have a $100m payroll through Game 120, and unlimited payroll after that. We will do this by setting the league as $200m payroll, but everyone must keep at least $100m "Cash Available" at all times until after Game 120 is played.

[b:b7bd1057d8]Other Settings[/b:b7bd1057d8]

FYI, the mid-day for GA was 122 and the last pick-3 for NE - which was last night - was 482.

On the other side of the spectrum, last night's AZ number was 834 so that probably doesn't bode well for me.

I'm still waiting on AZ to post. I'll print out the final list once it's in.

GA had a higher evening pick 3 than NE the previous night, so The Biomechanical Man wins the tie-breaker.

I did not set up a tiebreaker rule in advance, so here is my [i:9008323e64]in promptu[/i:9008323e64] tiebreaker ruling:

cminton flips a coin one time:
Heads - PM770 wins
Tails - The Biomechanical Man wins

Go for it, cminton.
