Hey Guys,
We start tonight! It's looking to me like Winning Inc. is the team to beat!
What do you guys think of your team and other teams????

Hey Jet,
Thanks for setting up the chat. Winning Inc.'s staff look almost pure contrarian. I have to agree that they will be tough - and I'm in their division.
My team is woefully lacking in power. I went overboard on defense - can tell I'm rusty after a 1 1/2 year layoff. (never have been as active and many of you). Am looking forward to seeing how a 24-team league plays out.
Looks like I need a lot of armor when I play you tonight.

This oughta be fun...

...although, I have had no success in 24 team leagues, yet.
Winning Inc looks good. Lots of depth. That comes in handy over 162.
I've tried to beat J-Pav before, maybe this time???

Spider,
Not sure what you mean by "needing armor". Hopefully that means you think our team is decent.
Your team should be pretty good too. Not going to score a whole lot, very low ob and power, but your D is outstanding. You're going to have to win a lot of low scoring games, but with your D you might be able to do that!

Jet,
I think your team looks good - especially 4 or 5 of your guys against my RPs. I think I will be ducking for cover when they're up. I definitely didn't pay enough attention to OB with a team that needs to manufacture runs.

I need to make about 2-3 more moves.
I really am damn close to being dead money at SOM baseball.

Sorry so late to the boards - wow, lots of last minute moves.
I think the 24 team $60 mil format is the best version of SOM Online. I would play it exclusively if the leagues would only fill. IMHO, avoid the $80 mil leagues, there is not enough player salary to support it.
Had some success in the inaugural Dirty Two Dozen league, but got knocked out in Game 5 of the semis (which still got me one credit by the by!) So I'm back here for some revenge.
I'm worried about Joe liking my team. I'd rather no one notice, but truth be told I'm hoping it's a slightly improved version of my 93 win first effort. As always, a lot depends on [b:6e09860397]HAL[/b:6e09860397] (peace be upon Him).
[b:6e09860397]Joe[/b:6e09860397], is Chico a reference to Chico, CA?

Great start with the chat guys! Let's keep it up, makes the league much more fun when you have someone to whine to when Hal throws you tough breaks.
Yep, lots of moves. I made a few myself today. I was waiting to hear on some trades that didn't materialize.
Happy to pick up Dewitt. Not so sure about Kershaw and Bonderman, that's a weak 4-5 SPs, but seems pretty much everyone is throwing someone out there that isn't so hot.
I think we have enough hitting to score runs (not that tonight showed it!) so we should have a shot (Hal willing ;) )
J, Yeah, your team looks pretty darn good. Hits the HECK out of the ball, your D (if I got your lineups right) is pretty lousy however.
As for Chico, yep, that's my home town! Don't live there any longer, but that's where I'm from. You ever been there?

My better half is from Greenville. I have been there and to Lake Almanor (very pretty) to visit her grandparents, but I have not been to Chico.
On the upside, She Who Must Be Worshipped finally stopped calling me a "flatlander."
