I went ahead and nominated a pitcher and also bid on a hitter that was nominated, not sure if I needed to wait for everyone to check in or not.

You can bid, but normal protocol is the 24-hour rule doesn't go into effect until all 12 of us have checked in.

Correct, 11 and 14, same as 2008.

Will we track our own team's salary, or will there be a central repository for everyone? This sounds like a very interesting format, like the good old days of fantasy.

You are responsible. In the ATG leagues that we've done, someone has maintained a website and a spreadsheet which makes it easy.

In the 2008 league we don't have a site, but we have a thread for players chosen that includes the money spent. I know several participants, including myself, keep our own spreadsheets to follow. Chances are if you make a mistake, someone will alert you soon enough, but still, do your best to keep track of your own bidding.

No problem at all with my bidding. I am more interested in when the other teams start to get low on funds :P

Process questions from a rookie

Postby JMP1 » Tue Nov 24, 2009 9:19 am

Does the commissioner declare a player "awarded" with the high bid or do we just go by the time posted on the highest posted bid after 24 hours?

Is the next player put up for bid immediately after the 24 hour period or does the person with that pick need the go-ahead from the commish?

Do the first 8 in the league nominate all the players or do we rotate?

Have all 12 players checked in?

You declare your own players after 24 hours and nominate a new one. There's no affirmation from anyone else about winning nor awarding. Just do it.

As you'll soon see the auction pretty much runs itself.

Nominations are made when you win a player, so everyone has an equal chance to nominate players.
