[b:2115dd67e3]REPOST OF RULES:[/b:2115dd67e3]

[b:2115dd67e3]'12 Angry Men' Theme League [/b:2115dd67e3]

[i:2115dd67e3]Preface: [/i:2115dd67e3]'The 12 Angry Men' Theme League, another wild Jeep theme is so named after the 1957 movie starring Henry Fonda and a host of other acclaimed actors. The league, therefore is designed to make '12 Angry Managers' as opposed to jurors.

* This league will consist of 4 Rounds of Live Drafting on the boards. It shouldn't take too long, but if you sign-up you'll need to be available for the live draft. Vets Only due to bad experiences with newbies in Live Drafts. Former Owners of "12 Angry Men" get priority and have until Monday (26th) at Noon EDT before it's open to others.

[b:2115dd67e3]Rules: [/b:2115dd67e3]

ROUND I:
Park picked for you

ROUND II:
Top 12 Hitter picked for you

ROUND III:
Top 12 (SP)Pitcher picked for you

ROUND IV:
Division picked for you

[b:2115dd67e3]How Rounds Work: [/b:2115dd67e3]

RD I:
After getting a draft order from a randomizer the Manager who comes after you in the draft will pick your park for you. Parks are unique.

For example:
#2 Manager picks #1 Manager's park, #3 picks #2 and so forth down to where #1 picks #12 Manager's park. Note: This round starts with #2 not #1.

RD II:
Same premise as above (starts with #2 again) where a Manager picks a Top 12 hitter (by salary) for the other Manager. This is a different draft order than Rd. I and the order determined by a new randomizer.

Sidenote: Round I and II can and will be done simultaneously.

RD III:
A Top 12 pitcher is now picked for each Manager in serpentine order from Rd. II. For example: #1 goes first and picks pitcher for #12, then #12 picks for #11 and so forth up to #2 picking #1 Manager's pitcher.

RD IV:
Division is now picked for each Manager. The order for this round will be re-calculated by least dollar amount of the 2 players picked in Rd's II & III. For example, the total salaries of the 2 players owned by each Manager is added up and least amount will be #1 and highest amount #12. Order of picking is #1 picks #2 and so forth to #12 picks #1. (Note: this is a slight deviation from the above draft order(s).)

[b:2115dd67e3]Other Rules to make for an 'Angry Manager': [/b:2115dd67e3]

1. Every Manager must start a '4' range (or worse) IF and a '4' range (or worse) OF at all times during the season. Only exception is when those starters are injured, the sub doesn't have to be a '4'. Note: Catcher doesn't count as an IF. Also note: These players can't be replaced for defensive purposes at the end of the game.

2. Every Manager must start at one position in the batting order (DH incl.)a player of under $1mil in salary. A platoon is ok, as long as an under $1mil guy is in each line-up. If there's an injury to the (under 1mil) player the (other) platoon player would then start. If there's no platoon the under $1mil rule is waived during the injury period. PLEASE NOTE: The under 1mil player(s) do not count towards your '4' range fielder, however, it's ok for this player to be a fielder of '4' or more range.

3. Any violation of the above rules, for instance a non-4 guy starting when the regular 4 guy isn't hurt, or an over 1mil player starting when the under 1 mil guy isn't hurt, whether accidental or not will result in a penalty of sitting your highest salaried hitter for the next series against the opponent the violation happened to. If you're thru with that opponent for the season, then the penalty would take place in the next series.

[u:2115dd67e3]Cast & Juror numbers from movie: [/u:2115dd67e3]
1. Martin Balsam
2. John Fiedler
3. Lee J. Cobb
4. E.G. Marshall
5. Jack Klugman
6. Ed Binns
7. Jack Warden
8. Henry Fonda
9. Joseph Sweeney
10. Ed Begley
11. George Voskovec
12. Robert Webber

So, when draft order is determined (using Rd I order) each Manager will be assigned the above actor based on juror number. I want everyone's team name to correspond in some way with his assigned Actor. Last year for example, my team name was the Ed Binn's.

[b:2115dd67e3]Intangibles: [/b:2115dd67e3]

(A) The players picked for you in the draft can NOT be dropped during the season.

(B) No trading of players or parks picked in live draft, nor can you trade draft spots.

(C) Draft Time Limit is 3 hours 9am to Midnight EDT. End draft positions have 4 hours, but there's only one end spot in this draft anyway. Draft starts immed. when league fills, but not before Noon Monday.

As always, we'll chat here and please leave the draft thread to draft picks only.

As soon as randomizer is done I'll be able to post everyone's juror (actor) and the draft order for Rounds 1 & 2.

Any questions just ask. I know things can get a little confusing, especially if this is your first time playing this theme.

Hummm..

I'm not sure I like opening up the hitters round before parks have been assigned...kinda takes away some strategy....if I know my guy has ATT etc etc... it would effect who I pick for him as a hitter

That's one of the fun parts Splinter. It's true some picks may be more advantageous, but remember the theme..."angry" managers. :D
