Armchair General Managers -- Season 36 -- Chat

Postby doc x » Fri Jun 04, 2010 12:49 pm

Check in at your earliest convenience. Please note the following:

1. The keeper cap is $35 million. Post your keepers on this thread.

2. Since we no longer require unique stadiums, you are free to choose whichever stadium you want.

3. An 8 round serpentine live draft will occur after all managers post their keepers lists. The draft order is set by worst to first according to regular season record without regard to whether or not a team makes the playoffs.

5. We'll use the DiamondDope draft site for the live draft. DiamondDope does not allow the opportunity to remove keepers from the draft pool. We will have to remember this when drafting.

6. There will be a 3 hour enforced clock on the draft that goes into effect after round 1 is complete.

7. You can make trades before you post your keeper lists. You can revise your keeper lists (due to trades, change of heart, etc.) as long as it is done before the last list is posted.

The draft order is as follows:

1. JMHite (69)
2. DSPeters5 (74)
3. Bullmcintosh (77)
4. Minnie Minoso (80)
5. Bujinkan1 (81)
6. JOEOC (83)
7. Chemosh (83)
8. Dacelo (84)
9. Doc X (84)
10. JW4412 (85)
11. CB3137 (85)
12. PJMB (87)

Regarding the round 1 draft order, please note: Joe and Denny both had 83 wins. Denny, however, won the head to head. Joe, therefore picks #6, and Denny picks #7; Jim and I both had 84 wins. Since I won the head to head, Jim picks #8 and I pick #9. Bob and Charlie both won 85 games. Since Charlie won the head to head, Bob pick #10 and Charlie at #11, that is if Charlie hasn't traded away this year's draft choices for players used last season.

I want to change up the divisions. I'm inclined to go with a suggestion Joe made but want to hear what you think, too. In Joe's plan the bottom four finishers would comprise one division, the middle four finishers would be another division, and the top four finishers would be the final division.

As a "bottom four finisher" I like the suggested division breakdown.

I like Joes idea for us bums

I like Joes idea to put da bums in one division.

Whatever happened to the first two rounds being worst to first? I know it is a pain not to do serpentine. Da bums have a tiny advantage drafting first in round one, but then we are last in round two.
