LA-Z-BOY’S LEAGUE XXXVII FORMAT

There no longer will be a Quick Draft

We will use the diamonddope site, if I can get everyone registered (if new players join). Should there be any problems, we'll revert back to our old drafting method, here on ILC.

We will use these revised LA-Z-BOY Rules with the draft lasting up to a ten day period. The drafting time with 12 hour clock (basically No Clock) is to accommodate the varied work schedules we have but allows for the draft to move on after 12 hours.
.

League will use the ATG VI Historical Version of SOM Game, Advanced, 100MM CAP, No D/H, Frenzy, and 5/10/20 drop rule

We can start drafting rounds beginning as soon as draft order is determined, on diamonddope.

We will use two randomized runs, first to determine draft order, second to determine stadium draft order and divisions.

Your Availability will be required (if you have not loaded your team) on Friday evening, 7/8/2011 for the team loading and Frenzy. (About a 1 to 1.5 Hour Commitment) If you are unable to make this commitment please do not join this league. Additional note team loading will start at the end of the player draft but Frenzy will be Friday 7/8/2011 so all can participate.

League Opening Day will be Monday 7/11/2011

League Draft will consist of 15 slow draft rounds. Round 9A will be a Stadium Draft Round and take place on this Chat Thread.

Stadiums will be UNIQUE

ALL TEAMS will be entered in the league by Friday, 10:00 PM ET, 7/8/2011, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!, with Frenzy to follow at usual SN time (12:05 AM ET.)

All drafted players are to be put on the BOTTOM OF YOUR DRAFT LIST.

Division Assignments by Draft Positions (Round 9"A" -- Stadium and Division Draft Position)

EAST: 12 11 10 9

CENTRAL: 8 7 6 5

WEST: 4 3 2 1

I know every possible situations is not covered in the rules but any decisions that have to be made will be made as fairly as possible

Lastly everyone is to have fun and may we have another fun filled season of LA-Z-BOY Baseball.

[quote:b735ebacdc]David, just a suggestion but wondering if you and everyone else would be
interested in trying different salary caps or maybe dh or no dh each
season. Thinking that everyone gets a chance to choose the cap, maybe
just on a rotating basis? Also, how about a minimal amount of cash or
(say 15-20 mill.) or 2-3 players to carry into either 1 or 2 seasons max.
(the players that is, not the cash amount). Anyways, just my thoughts,
might make each year a little different and spice things up a bit since I
love spice :). What does everyone think?[/quote:b735ebacdc]

Sorry for the delayed response Jon but I did want to address your question. While I have no problems throwing a wrinkle now and then into my own leagues, I suspect the format of this league is whats kept it so popular. Therefore, with respect to Joe's most excellent original idea, I'm leaving the current rules intact. Perhaps this is something Joe might want to consider down the road but in the meantime, I'm simply the caretaker....much like Jack Nicholson in "The Shining!"

As to Joe's idea -- when Bobby was around and frenzies were popular, we often had a two- or four-round draft followed by a frenzy that Friday or Saturday night. I'd do one of those (drafting any number of players), any cap $100 or less, just about every weekend if there were people looking for a way to help kill an evening.
