SOM 2005: TSN_11824

Okay, things are seriously screwed up in this league. For example:

- Only one team actually has a total team value of $80M; the rest range from $82-$120M.
- The Brokeback Mountineers have 34 players.
- The Brokeback Mountineers and cristano1 26 were somehow able to pick up players before the waivers period ended.

Can everyone chime in as to when you started noticing strange things happening? Any background would be helpful.

Sorry for everything going haywire. I've never seen anything like this before.

I signed up for a team in the 2005 league, then decided I'd rather try the 80's version since that is the time my love of baseball started in full force.

Sporting News had no problem making that change for me, they credited me with a team in the version I wanted and disabled my old one. Well, after reading more about the game, I decided one team wasn't enough and signed up for a team in 2005 as well.

After setting my team for the draft, I joined a league and ended up in a league with my old team that is now classified as having no owner. When I notified sporting news of this error, they corrected the problem and put another team in that spot, unfortunately they did this after the original draft and another draft was done, I think.

Not sure from there what happened.

I think the league originally drafted Tues 12am. On tues afternoon I checked my team again to set waiver picks. At that point it said draft scheduled for Wed 12 am. Thought I was losing it....."did I dream the original draft?"

After 1st draft results were posted, everything looked OK at that point.

the first draft was held tues at midnight (EST)
i had a roster as did the others.
by tues at 11 AM the front office page said the draft would be wed at midnight which it was.
but now we have duplicates or clones if you will.
We have 2 renterias, ivan rodriguezs, javy lopez's etc....
seem Broke Mountain has 34 players and still has 16 mil. in the bank.
what a mell of a hess. :cry:

My concern now is whether to make any moves, or are we going to have to start again from scratch. It's obvious when the mess occurred, but what to do next.

I've never played this before. I just started picking up players and clearly didn't understand the waviers. I'll got no idea what is going on but it wasn't my fault. I see my team name being thrown around a lot and I feel accused. I have a feeling I know why and I don't like it one bit. Prejudice!

Poe, from the outside perspective on this I can honestly tell you that I don't think anyone is accusing you of anything.

All that is going on is Bernie trying to figure out what happenhed so as to fix it. I think it's really cool of him to do so.

I am more than confident that in time you'll find that TSN and the community of strat players are all a bunch of cool cats that are fun to play with...Honestly, in my opinion, not an ounce of prejudice or malice running around.

Hope you guys sort it all out...and by the way Poe: I've never been in a league with Cristiano, but from everything I read and from his teams in the Record Books I can tell he's a pretty darn good player...you're in excellent company there in _11824

Poe987 - you are definitely NOT being blamed for anything. People are just offering up what they know, matter-of-factly. It looks like this is our fault for somehow letting the draft schedule itself twice.

Everyone please ignore the current state of the league; we're going to have to re-draft [b:05288302be]Friday night[/b:05288302be]. I can't guarantee the results will be the same as they were after the 1st (or 2nd) drafts, but there's a good chance. You'll still be able to start the season on Monday.

this is a sporting news (league management) mistake, NOT yours!
No one is accusing you of being at fault.
Look forward to playing with you in this league and when we re-draft all should be ok.

Do we need to take action in terms of making new draft picks or will you be using our original choices. I am in a time zone that is +14 hrs from EST. Looking forward to my first season. Good luck to all.
