Ichiro in center?

Ichiro in center?

How many games must a player play at a position during the regular season to be eligible at that position in SOM? Ichiro played center today and it sounds like he will be there at least a couple days a week for the remainder of the season.

It's some strange, small number of innings... 3.2? Something like that. So yeah, if he plays there any more than a very token amount, he should get the qualification.

Probably doesn't matter much if he's a 3, but if he's a 2, that'd make him significantly more valuable, considering that his offense is "more like" a CF (it'd be easy to find a RF with more power), plus he has the great arm which is arguably more valuable in CF than RF.

Thanks Dean. Good point about his value in CF vs. RF.

I e-mailed SOM with this question and here is there reply:

Most positions require just one inning of play to get a rating. For additional outfield spots though, a minimum amount of innings is required to get a rating, usually around 8-10 innings.
This changes each season though.

my guess is he will be a 2 in cf , at worst.........
hes always a 1 in rf, and you dont usually see a guy who is a 1 at the corner positions , drop to a 3 in cf...
so he will probably be a 2
