Strat 2006: Coco Crisp, Mike Cameron, or Juan Rivera

Postby wahlerpc » Tue Nov 21, 2006 7:55 pm

As noted below in a different post, I'm "taking over" a buddy's struggling team.

My team has inflated ERAs, and I attribute a good bit of this to the range, arm, and error rate of the fielders. I've made tons of changes--I know...losing money is never a good thing, but this team was HORRIBLE, and I had no choice, and am down to one last possible change: my OF.

if you're interested, heres' the team:

I have Magglio Ordonez in RF, Coco Crisp in CF, and Bobby Kielty in LF with Carlos Lee (LF) serving as my DH. My question is, should I possibly look at swapping out Crisp for Juan Rivera, Mike Cameron, or Torii Hunter???

I'm leaning towards either keeping Crisp or going with Juan Rivera. Cameron only has a 0 arm and a 4 Injury, and Torii, though great at range and arm, has a 5 injury rate. Rivera has great range (2), a nice arm (-2), and an injury rate of 1, and his hitting numbers are fair across the board (actuals anyway...he's a free agent and played on no roster this season in my league).

What do you guys think???

Thanks for helping a novice...

Considering that Crisp is your only CF-eligible player, dropping him for Torii or Cameron would make no sense at all. Who would play CF when they're injured?

As for Rivera, it seems like Crisp, who is about the only guy on your team well suited to hit 1st or 2nd, is a better fit for your team than him.

thanks Dean...Ideally, I'd like to find a decent CF and move Crisp to LF, but that's tough when they're only giving the 80% on FA moves...
