Another disappointing night in terms of pinch-hitting. None of it, despite losing 4-3, top of the 9th, with one on and Spivey facing Rivera with one better option on the bench (Mienkiewicz) and a potential back-up (DeRosa).

That said, Hal perhaps lost sight off the roster. My team had 8 players injured on the same day (game 23)!!

Still not an excuse to use ABoone at 2b, Fick at 3rd, Spivey at dh (instead of, you know, Spivey at 2nd, ABoone at 3b, and Fick at dh???)

Stupid Hal.

33 games, 7 pinch-hit.

Hal refuses to use pinch-hitters early in the game (no sooner than the 8th inning) or when my team is leading. Because I got a winning streak lately (surprisingly, my 28 players roster is 18-15), I barely saw any pitch-hitting, but I did see Logan pinch-hit for Drew in a game I needed on-base.

Of those 7 pinch-hit, only once Hal chose the right pinch-hitter, in my opinion.

Well the experiment is over. I think I had two additional pinch-hits, and that was it: about 10 pinch-hits in 48 games despite having incredibly weak Branyan vs lhp or Molina vs rhp, and despite the fact that I had 17 hitters on my roster.

I went back to 15 hitters, and bought a reliable set-up man, before I get too far distanced from bigmahon.
