Swing Pitchers and Limiting their Relief Innings

Swing Pitchers and Limiting their Relief Innings

How do i do that?

I have a SP/R and I only wish to use him as SP. So how can I minimize any usage by HAL for him in relief? If I select "Avoid RH Hitters" and "Avoid LH Hitters", will he still start for me? The object here is to not let him pitch any relief innings if at all possible, while using him as a spot-starter. What would you do?

thanks

Make sure he is in your rotation. He won't pitch in relief unless HAL is out of options (like an extra inning game). It does force you to use per game starters unless you have four * pitchers ahead of him, in which case he won't pitch at all.

That's a relief (no pun intended). Thanks.

In one league, I checked the boxes to avoid using before the 9th inning and limit to 1 to 2 IP.

In another, I made sure my spot starter was a straight starter.

I have checked both boxes avoid lefties and righties if I wanted to use a guy as a spot starter and then filled him in the schedule when I wanted to use him. In this case, I never had my pitcher used when I didn't want him to.
I assume this is your intended use for your pitcher.
