IntentionaL Walks?

Postby Smitty1800 » Thu Mar 06, 2008 3:55 pm

Can someone please shed some light on what to use to determine how to set the Intentional walks setting in Managerial settings as well as on a players strategy settings? I have it set on conservative but I am not sure that is correct for my staff.

Thanks,

if you set it on ultra conservative you can make your pitcher card control who does it - the immortal FrankZappalives has had seasons with no ibbs by clicking the cards to refrain from ibbs.

Would it be better to avoid IBB or not? I have a good pitching staff. Here is a link to my team.

I set the team on "extra conservative" and each player on "IBB less", if only because HAL sucks at knowing when to issue the IBB. He puts extreme emphasis on the player's clutch rating, to the point that he will IBB a good clutch hitter to get to a bad clutch hitter [i:d5ebbacbeb]even if the bad clutch hitter is still better than the good clutch hitter after clutch is figured into it[/i:d5ebbacbeb]. That is not smart strategy. If given the choice between trying to get a potent hitter out and having a bunch of ill-advised free passes given out, I am definitely going with the former.
