Here's that Frankenstein monster 2006 Petco Team... finally

Postby Minoso Express » Sat May 13, 2006 1:12 pm

With many thanks to Aray, LMBombers, Mtarblell, Cummings, Stoney, Markp, Pelzer and the gang who have so generously tried to steer me away from PETCO disaster in my first Strat 2006 outing.

Now, let's hope the pitching staff doesn't fall apart and I can come up with the appropriate batting order for all these guys. And to avoid any sharp rise in Strat manager blood pressures, I'm using Bay as the DH, Sizemore in CF.

You team looks pretty good to me. One comment though....Unless you are planning to use Kerry Wood as a RP you don't need him. Even if you take away the 2 BPHRs vs LH batters he has 2 ugly normal HRs vs LH. Outside of those HRs he has an awesome card. If you have some HR parks in your division you really should get rid of him. If you only have moderate to pitcher's parks then he is ok.

LM, I worry about those HRs against lefties, too. I had planned to use him only in relief as a sort of uber righty specialist, but maybe I'm being too optimistic and maybe HAL will bugger up my plans for that? There is a Coors team in my division, so perhaps I can shop him around. The other parks are SAFECO (he'd hurt me there against lefties, too, I guess) and a PNC.

I'll take a closer look at your team later on but as always, my usual advise when it comes to Petco and Lineups is to check Luckyman's (Marcus Wilby) threads in this forum, The Book for LUs and The importance of BPs more to it than...

Lucky is quite the smarts around here, best advise I can give is to listen to what he has to say. Check 'em out if you haven't.

If I see anything I'll drop by here later on and as always,

All best of luck.
