While Jones' defense is great in any park his offensive card is best utilized in a power park or R/H slanted park like Minute Maid. In Petco I think Bay is the better value for the dollar. Jones would hit around .250, if your lucky, in Petco.

Agree with LM. While Jones's natural HR's are attractive for Petco I'd rather have Bay's better hits & OB.

I may be stating the obvious... but I would also add that a Jones vs. Bay decision would be impacted by what type of players are in the "supporting cast" (i.e. the rest of the offense).

If there is another pure-HR slugger behind Jones/Bay, then I'd go with Bay, who if he doesn;t bring home guys ahead of him, will still get on base and allow the inning to continue down to the HR guy more often than Jones (lower OBA, more DP's)... plus Bay could steal 2nd to allow a sqweaky single to score a run.

If the team has no other guys with high auto-HR's, I would take Jones, and make sure the top of the lineup has enough on-base guys to ensure there's always someone on base when he hits.

Anyone agree, disagree?

By the way, my own preferences would be to bat A. Jones 5th, and bay in the #3 spot, or perhaps #4...

A Jones...no doubt about it. All of those naturals vs RHP, gotta be Andruw.
