Getting over the 500 mark

Getting over the 500 mark

Postby clawson trojans » Sun Dec 17, 2006 10:31 am

This is my first time playing. I have two teams and I can not get over the 500 mark with either one of them. Can anyone help?

I copied then pasted them.
Is there any other way?

There are several ways to accomplish the same task. Go to your "Front Office" page and go down to the matchup for your next upcoming game. Put your mouse cursor over your team's name, click the RIGHT button and select "copy link location." It should end in "user_id=xxxxx". Then paste that into the forum.

It's nice to be an almost total newbie and still be able to offer some meaningful guidance to somebody!

The links work fine now. As a newbie, I am really unqualified to comment on the teams themselves, but I would suspect that being .500 or just a couple of games below at the midpoint of the season is not that unusual, even for teams that later go on to win championships. The team pitching for the Sebwaing Echoes seems to be pretty darn good with a 3.82 ERA and 1.23 WHIP. I've got a 2003 team that's 45-36 at the midway mark and has only got a staff ERA of 4.37 and a WHIP of 1.48:

I'd say be patient, but then I'd also say I don't consider my advice worth a hoot.

Well I'm no expert either, Geekor, marcus wilby, durantjerry, jerlins, stoney18, DeanTSC, rgimbel, stevep, LMbombers, sandlothrink, bigmahon... those are some of the elite SOMers you should heed but...I'll chime in with some thoughts about the 1st team (echoes)

jcr is right, 1st of all be patient. I currently have a team that was buried 18 games under .500 after 60 games and w/o a single change its now 1 game over .500 so, that's #1

then. I noticed this lineup:

1. Pierre CF 3 (+3) e4
2. Rollins SS 2e12
3. Pujols 1B 2e15
4. Sheff RF 4(-2) e4
5. Maggs DH
6. Mueller 3B 2e12
7. Bako/Molina
8. Inge LF 4(-2) e7
9. Iguchi 2B 2e17

Few notes: Maggs would be better in RF and Sheff in DH

I'd like more OBP and less GBAs in the top 2.

How are you using your SPs, at first I thought you were using Harden as your main arm in the pen but then I saw him starting, you have a pretty good 4 man rot. (Pedro, Randy, Bart & Glavine) you don't need the 5th starter.

I just got a call and have to run, sorry. Will write more later.

I was hoping to have Maggs DH because of his high injure rating.
I did not know until lately that they could only get injured batting not playing the field.

I will be trying some new lineup in the next couple days to get oba higher in the lineup and watch out for gb guys.

Thanks again for the help!

cHECK THE SETTINGS ON YOUR CARDS

Postby STEVEPONEDAL » Mon Dec 18, 2006 8:36 pm

I am kind of a newbie as well. Check to see if you have the settings on your player cards set correctly. Especially for avoid LHB/RHB and Avoid usng before,...,.

I had about 9 blown saves by not having them set correctly.
