In search of 400 HR's-392 @ thru game 144

Postby durantjerry » Mon Nov 06, 2006 9:38 pm

Not bad considering 27 road games vs 15 home games. I think the highest on the HR post I saw was 377. I played in a league a year or two ago where a guy said he picked his team to hit 400 HR's, because he figured he couldn't lose with 400 HR's. He didn't make the 400 HR's or the playoffs. 400 HR's = success might be even more relevant now, as it seems not as many HR's get hit in 2006. There don't seem to be as many bashing leagues and Coors isn't as popular without it's crazy HR dimensions of the past.

Several teams in the past made over 400 hrs. It was easier when SFleftfielder was hanging around. I got a couple on my own:

I think it's quite feasible to do it this year too. In a recent National league team (pitchers hitting), with a right-fielder who couldn't slugg, I made 340 hrs. ARod contributed for 63 hrs.

On pace for 396

I have a Coors team with 132 through 54 games. Good news is Glaus and Kent have been slackers so far. I think that will change. I had Glaus do 46 and Kent 43 on a Coors team that just finished. Funny thing is my team sucks at home but on the road in a tough pitcher's league (three PetCos and no other hitting park) my team is 17-7. Go figure.
Also Uribe should pick it up a little. I had figured him for 22-25.

I have:

Fasano c 15HRs
Ortiz DH 24
Clark ist 17
Kent 2nd 12
Uribe ss 4
Glaus 3rd 12
Dunn LF 18
Edmonds CF 12
Sheffield RF 17

We'll see. We are a least in the hunt for 400 which is fun.

DJs team is wailing away

Postby PAULMINICUCCI » Fri Nov 17, 2006 6:40 pm

Update on "Just Hitters" - 219 in just 75 games. Well done DJ!!!!! Even a bad 2nd half can't sink this ship (I don't think).

Excessive pride forces me to point out however that my team Baseball Team 24 will outscore Just Hitters. Currently DJ is scoring 6.64 runs per game while we do 6.92 or 1122 for the year.

Did the improbable last night and threw 2 shutouts against DJ's juggernaut. I have a US Cell team as well and thought we might put 60-70 combined runs, but Hal said "not this series". Jerry's team has been fun to watch, luckily we are in different divisions. I just want to stay within 100 of his runs scored # this season!!!!!

Yes, I have become a big Sal F fan. He started the first 75 games and was on a 60 HR pace before injury caught up with him. Still hitting .280 and slugging .600+. Not too shabby.

Wow, It looks like Floyd has gone nuts the past few games for you DJ, I didn't remember having so many Dingers

Hats off to rgimbel for his team, I think he is just a tad off pace for 400 but you can't argue with being 30 games over .500 8)

-RG was in my very first strat league, he was super cool helping me get my feet wet, I always like seeing him do well, classy guy and he deserves all the wins. Way ta go RG!!!

My squad hit 13 HR's in last nights series and only scored 14 runs(1 two run HR before 11 consecutive solo shots).
