I have never been an anti-steal guy, but I am a Bill James believer, so I thought it was a waste. I never thought much of using it or defending it. I used the "conservative" or "extra conservative" settings and didn't even use steal more for the real fast guys. I haven't stolen 200 bases more than once or twice, if at all, since team #1(now at about 200 overall), and I'm not even sure I did it then. I finished 4th in offense(1 out of third) with a top OBP & BA, but last in HR's. I have posted similar #'s with other Fenway teams and not had as much offensive success and not running as much. I know I will give the running game more consideration in the future.

I'd seen this team in a different thread.

Big time kudos on the steals, wins and ring DJ.

How the heck did you get Pierre to give you a .374 BA with a .420 OBP and Harris to give you aa .303/.393. They both hit higher than D.Lee

Even w/o the steals, I'd say that every time you get those stats from two "cheapies" you'll be in good shape.

Now with the steals...then it's just sweet stuff.

I do believe that the small ball/ speed aspect of the game doesn't get enough credit but I also know the very had facts argued against it and it's tough to defend a strategy with so much evidence against it. I for one like it. It's just fun.

Congrats dj, über well deserved ring. 8)

I don't know what got into W Harris. That's a little unbelievable he hit so well. I am now using Pierre platoons on a couple of other teams(vs lhp's), including a Tour team and a LOTO Tourney team and he's doing well on both. I think that may be W Harris' career year. I play Fenway a lot and have had some never duplicated stats by a few lefty punch & judy's playing there. I'd like to say I knew about these guys, but I only really played them for their speed potential. I am rethinking my stealing philosophy. Most teams in the league seemed to have at least two good hold pitchers, as I was trying to find opportunities to run wild, but there were just not that many, so I just left it on "aggressive".
