Def. or Offense Question for team starting tomorrow

O.k here's the team. Based in Turner.

1 more turner in Div. with two Lefty parks too. Ameriquest & PNC

not too crazy about the team but I'll stick to the all E experiment.

Main Q: Do I stick with Jack Wilson in SS and Michael Young DHing or move Young to SS and get me another better offensive bat to DH. Overbay/Lugo/C. Wilson are E options avail.

With my rackety pitching staff i don't want to sacrifice defense. Right now I am projecting the team as is to score more runs than runs allowed...but just barely.

Season starts tomorrow. Any thoughts?

Thnx 8)

Heh... all those E's are funny looking. Anyway, I'd definitely take Overbay, you need the lefty bat IMO.

Even Steven

Postby PAULMINICUCCI » Tue Nov 28, 2006 8:27 pm

I played against guy who used the moniker "Even Steven" and he fielded teams that were completely evenly balanced in the 2005 version. He had a winning record but don't remember whether he went to the playoffs.

Personally, I have had no luck doing fully balanced teams. Much better luck in extreme parks or unbalanced teams in PNC or Shea or MM.

So, I wonder what the implications might be. It would be interesting to see for example if you play an unusual number of close games on the theory that you don't have any big strengths or weaknesses when it comes to match-ups.
