Can anyone shed some light on the following playoff scenario:

[color=blue:23a775604d]Tiebreakers for a 2-way tie are, in order:
- Head-to-head record
- Run differential
- Coin flip[/color:23a775604d]

Am I correct in thinking that "run differential" means for the entire season, or is it the run differential between the two teams which are tied for a division title (i.e. a head-to-head run differential)?

I interpret it to mean the entire season as well, which may not be the best determination, as Petco type teams will usually get the short end of the run differential stick.

I've no concrete evidence to the correct interpretation though. I've never been in that scenario.

Going into tonite, if I get swept by the fourth place team, and the second place team sweeps the third place team, me and the second place team are tied 12-12 in head-to-head and he has the nod in head-to-head run differential while I have the overall run differential.

If my math is right, the chance of HAL actually doing this is 1.6%. If you know HAL at all, you understand why I'm nervous.

I had this come up once. I was tied for 1st and H2H was also tied. I was left out of the playoffs. I had the worse overall run diff. I didn't check if I had better run diff. in H2H but I also interpret the rule to be overall Run Diff.
