Remove for defensive sub with lead

Remove for defensive sub with lead

Postby STEVEPONEDAL » Mon Feb 26, 2007 7:03 pm

So, how does this work? I have some brittle guys in my lineup, Polanco, Hafner and Berkman. When I have a big lead, I want to pull them out to minimize the risk of injuries. I have remove for defensive sub with lead but I am not seeing these guys pulled. What’s up with that?

I guess I have some questions;

Will Hal remove a DH? That’s where I have Hafner.

Does the player coming in, actually have to have a better defensive rating?

Should the defensive subs not have the avoid XHP boxes checked?

What makes this work?

Thanks

Steve

No, it definitely won't make a defensive replacement for your DH :P I don't think there is a way to do what you want; what you really want is "avoid using during blowouts," and although that option is available for pitchers, neither the PC game nor the TSN game has it for hitters. Defensive replacements are in fact specifically intended [i:e87e39bd14]not[/i:e87e39bd14] to be used in blowouts, but in close games. So you could easily program the non-DH injury-prone players to be lifted in the late innings of a close game, but if they're also your best available fielders, then naturally you don't want that.
