Anyone else having lots of trouble with thier pitching staffs in 07? I've tried tighter defenses and pitchers parks, but I still keep getting hammered.

Any ideas?

I've spent 43m on pitching in RFK. My team ERA is 3.01 through 114 games. Up the middle, I have Roberts, Everett and Duffy. Unfortunately, my team batting average, OBP and slugging is 263, 320 and 379, respectively. So far, pitching has not been my problem.

sknsfan,
07 is driving me crazy. I have been swept more this year than all of last year, but pitching is fine- using more 5 man rotations. I think the value is better there than last year. Hitting is atrocious an I don't know why. I suspect I'm not able to take advantantage of the extreme parks.

Please analyze this staff for me:

Starters (*): Webb, Bush, Maddux, Harang.
Non * - King Felix
Closer - Todd Jones
Setup men - Jamie Walker, Rick Bauer, Ryan Dempster, Jonathan Sanchez, and Scott Eyre.

Homepark - Fenway

I currently have closer usage at Maximize, relief usage at Normal, IBB at normal, infield in at 5th inning, Bauer as setup v RHB, Dempster as setup v LHB. Any suggestions?

Well, first of all, what would you need Felix for?

He just happens to be the fifth starter. We previously had a five man rotation and changed mid-season. I realize I could drop him for a cheapie. The other stuff is more what I am worried about.

In my opinion, what Dean is telling about is a lot more important than what you are asking about.

I'm doing pretty good starting pitching wise so far although record is not great. My problem is I had 3 mil relievers, D. Sanchez and Duschere and they have been hammered but current relievers have not. Go figure.

bad link. go to league statistics and select your team. Copy the URL and paste here. You did it right if it ends in a number instead of .html.
