Lineup advice

Anybody have any recommendations about this lineup against right handed pitchers? Any big changes? I play in Kauffman.

Lineup creation is an area I'm not real strong in but I'd probably go,

Gross,G*
Scott,L* - Lowest DP's w/great OB
Cabrera,Miguel
Beltran,C+
Sanchez,F - best clutch out of the remaining hitters
Lowell,M
Teixeira,M+
Molina,J
Vizquel,O+ - prefer a little OB in 9th spot.

Overall not a strong lineup vs right. Not a fan on Teix. He and Sanchez are both stronger vs left and you usually see less of them. I'd look to replace him with someone like Overbay/Gload and then upgrad Molina.

Most line-up changes have little impact on the bottom line (runs scored), short of batting Pujols 9th. My only lineup advice would be to stagger your left and right hand hitters to confound HAL's bullpen logic (ie, don't let a fitty cent right hand reliever who's 9L face three consecutive lefty batters late in the game).

Vizquel is not very good against RHP, and his total obp is often much less than expected. I'd move him down and go:

1. Gross (L) Good obp, but no speed at all
2. Scott (L) Good #2, few DPs, high obp
3. Lowell (R) Good #3, poor clutch, and kills RHP
4. Beltran (L) Obvious #4
5. Cabrera (R) Good clutch, good obp, power
6. Vizquel (L) Speed seems to help in the 6 spot, some clutch
7. Sanchez (R) Good clutch, but really underperforms against RHP
8. Teixeira (L)
9. Molina (R)

Your 8 and 9 spots are really weak, I think you can do better; but all in all weak 8 and 9 spots are good problems to have. I have batted Sanchez 9th against RHP, to try and catch a lefty reliever late in the game in a clutch situation. It's hard spending all that dough on a 9 hitter, but he seems suited for it and it helps turn over the lineup.

Just food for thought. Replace Teixeira and Molina, look for a true leadoff hitter w/ some speed, and you'll be fine. Actually, you'll probably be fine regardless.

I like [b:be529c28d7]Stoney[/b:be529c28d7]'s Overbay suggestion. You need someone batting 6th who can pick up all those high obp guys at the top of the order. But it all depends on who's available...

thanks for the input. I have 7 lefty starters in my division so I think I'll keep Teixeira for hitting and defense. I also have Sheffield to platoon with Gross. I have never had so many lefties in my division before.
