This is why you shouldn't plan on there being anything left in an autodraft....

ok my new team: http://fantasygames.sportingnews.com/baseball/stratomatic/2005/team/team_other.html?user_id=32221

A little advice for a frustrated vet who is barely breaking a .500 winning %. My last 5 autoleagues, there was always at least some mid level sp's left, not this time! So I'm going with a weak SP core and a decent bullpen and some sluggers. Yes this is after wiavers, there is a Petco, Shea and Camden in my division. Any opinions on the sukitude of this team?

At first glance I didn't think your team was in much trouble but then I saw the bats you're up against in your division: Vlad, Bonds, Beltre, Pujols, Mauer...and pitching in your div. Santana, Schilling, Tom Gordon...oooompff.

For what its worth when I've had Bonds playing in my division I've carried John Franco and he's minimized the damage quite alright for the .53 he's worth.

The only time I've been in a league that was so pitching heavy I played my most offensive team and it actually payed off: teams had allocated so much in pitching that my cheapie staff did O.K. and my offense generated enough offense to get me 86 wins.

How are you planning on playing LF and C? With the Catchers you carry and your pitcher's HLD rates I am afraid they'll run on you fairly easily (Izturis, Patterson, Figgins and Furcal -mainly- in your division)

But all things being said I think you'll have plenty of offense to make up for the pitching staff you have...I've had starting rotations all under 2 Mil and ended up with team ERAs under 4.0

I actually think you're in good shape! Good luck, will follow the progress of the team.

thanks.

I've actually used Cota (munson backup) once before in Coors (I know better than here) with some great power number, though nothing else. It's ok for the 8th spot I believe.

Cota, H. R C 4(0)e10 456 69 11 36 77 11 0 3 .228 .511 .255 3R 1.37M
Munson, E. L 3B 4e31 196 19 11 7 26 10 0 16 .174 .357 .220 E .67M

88 runs scored, 43 hr's and 103 RBI for 2.04 mil isn't bad in my book. I'm hoping they will equate to 35 and 90 this time around... here's to hoping! :?

I think it has possibilites, you have a great core of hitting. You'll be tough.

Because Berkman looks like he'll have to play left, Nixon will DH against righties...but who will DH against all of the lefties you'll be facing? Interesting starting staff with all those unbalanced *SPs, you'll be able to mix and match pretty well...

Merloni will DH vs L, as he as done very well (especially for the price) before for me. Of course it is a very injury prone DH platoon, but will hopefully work well when healthy.

And yes I am platooning Trashcel with Silvia, hoping that they will be ok if facing teams that favor their strengths.

We'll see if this weak pitchign team can Red Sox there way through.
