Starting a Reliever

Starting a Reliever

Postby Palmtana » Sun Jun 11, 2006 8:00 pm

Since [i:3a229e401b]a pitcher used in relief in his last outing should have at least one day of rest before starting[/i:3a229e401b] otherwise he will pitch fatigued, what is the best way to minimize, if not eliminate, the possibility of an S/R pitching in relief before their scheduled start.

I want to use Hermanson ('05 game) for a spot start in game 3 of a series.

Put Hermanson in one of the five spots in your rotation

I've always assumed that if you list him as your per-game starter for an upcoming game, HAL will take that into account when making relief selections. Does anyone know for sure?

Of course, putting him in the rotation, as well, can only help.
