[quote:35c6471960="Free Radicals"]I looked over the teams carefully and it seemed like every team is lacking something . I took the Cubs because they have more usable players IMO overall . :D[/quote:35c6471960]

I agree, maybe outside the 61 Yanks, all of the new teams we are selecting have large gaps... and the 61 Yanks are expensive, so it's tough to manage in the 80M, IMO (we'll see once they start winning 6 of every 10 games how correct that opinion may be!).

I think trades may be the great equalizer here... some full-teams selected have players that will not be used, and hopefully there will be enough time to develop trades and add/drop to tweak rosters... said "hopefully" as my #10 team pick will leave me with PLENTY of gaps, I'm sure.

On the ATG boards I see alot of folks complaining about pricing . The pricing will level itself out in due time IMO . Sure alot of players went up in price but alot came down also . Getting balance will be the key . I checked it out last night and there's over 150 players with 1's in the field . If you can't field a decent D team , your not trying very hard .

And for the 3rd time in 24 Hrs., I'm forced to take the '55 Reds!!  My 3 picks in 3 drafts was #7, #8, and #9. I took the Reds, Reds, and Reds.

I wonder if WJ was thinking the '55 Reds!! 8) 8) 8) I was getting some wierd confusing vibes from him.

I think it will be really interesting to see how things played out when the team draft is done, compared to people's expectations. I really feel like I am about 4/5 blind on this one because I have no idea how cards will perform and who are good values. I went through a frenzy and felt like I was randomly grabbing people by looking at a price point, looking for a 1 or 2 on D, and then just taking the highest OPS of that subset.

That said, I went through all 23 teams and ranked a top 12 for myself. So far, all the teams chosen were in my top 12, but in a very different order. For instance, the Naps and '21 Pirates were two of my top three choices (I was really hoping one of them would slide all the way to me) two more of my top five were taken 1-2, and the otehr one is still out there. I imagine others had very different orders from mine. I think all the teams have strengths and weaknesses, it goes to what area you are prioritizing.

As far as the pricing, I am one of those guys who was hurt by the pricing changes as all the players I routinely use went up in price, some dramatically, and I never use the guys who came down in price. I do think, though, that re-pricing was necessary, I may have just wished that the differences were less, some $2 million increases only $1 million, $1 million increases only $500k. I like the direction of the changes, I just think they could have been more subtle. I do think we will find new bargains among the new cards. I see a couple possibilities out there.

With the 12th pick, I am looking forward to the individual draft rounds, as I will have a lot of holes to fill.

I think I might know who Cubs48 is hoping to get! :D

BTW, Thanks YF. There are a few more BPHR in '06 League Park than I would have guessed based on my player's actual stats.
