March Madness Round 2-Bracket 3- Talk

Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

My pitching sure is surprising. And thank God for that...my offense is not at all impressive. Got swept by YountFan last night, scoring a total of four runs in the three games! I gave up only 10 runs for the series. But as things have been working out this season, I've tended to score just enough to pick up the W more than not...

Not only are all 5 of my SPs listed in the top ERA list, three of them are on the strikeout leaders list, 2 on the hits per 9 and 2 others on the BB per 9. 4 are on the Ks per 9. They're listed elsewhere in the various categories...an embarrasment of wealth. Wish I could import these guys into the next round! How 'bout my closer Jerry Don Gleaton - first in the running for the Rolaids Relief Award, and 2nd in the Cy Young race?? Not bad for .83mil...

Crazy Central

Postby tgmfp » Sun Aug 06, 2006 11:21 am

What a piece of work this team has been. Saftey pins and wire holding this group togeather. Kept my self in it by finding a few decent pitchers at the half way point Boddicker and Farrell. Now Wocknefuss is out for 10 games. It will be interesting to see how it unfolds over the next 18 games. Frenzy is not going down with out a fight! I hope.

PLAYOFF DETERMINATION TONIGHT

Postby hechojazz » Fri Aug 11, 2006 10:44 am

Interesting pair of games tonight to determine things. First off, Bombers face A Team in the last series of the regular season. The winner takes the Central division and the loser's out of the playoffs. In the West, Admirals face Pigheads - the winner gets that division and the loser's the wild card. Most likely they will face each other again in the first round. Freeloaders will most likely face the Central division winner. Should be fun!

Either Footwear or Frenzy looks to be the fourth team to be excluded from the next round of March Madness, depending on the outcome of their games tonight.

Frenzy make the Cut

Postby tgmfp » Sat Aug 12, 2006 6:53 am

After starting the season 18-36. The Frenzy retooled and put together a great second half to finsh .500 second in the divison and made the cut!
If I was not in this tournament. I may have quit on this team, but I mananged my butt off for this team and they responded.

I have to hand it to you. You did an incredible job with that team. You just missed winning the division with it, a team in which for a good part of the season I thought was destined to be the door mat of the league. A little more time, and I think you would have won the division. The Frenzy were the best team in the central by the end of the season. Your record in the final third of the seasson speaks for itself.

Well, I had high hopes for the Freddie Freeloaders, but my once vaunted pitching staff just blew it...either that or Hannibal's ATeam was stealing signs...so I'm out in the first round of the playoffs having won only a single game.

Tonight settles the other series with a Game 5 between Pigheads and Admirals. Will the finals be played in the Kingdome or Jack Murphy? The ATeam fans in the Metrodome are just dyin' to know...

Meanwhile, preparations for Round 2 begin in earnest...
