Dingman

Postby Semper Gumby » Mon Aug 07, 2006 9:08 pm

Sandy,

I've been away for a few days and going to be away for another week with the Marines later this month as well so I didn't see much on Dingman.

I'm sure he is just dandy for the money.

I'm hoping my $$$ players come around soon. I can understand the BPHR issue but Drew, Berkman, and Chipper have natural power so it makes me wonder about the rolls / columns. Hell, Silver's Ichiro has as many HRs as my guys.

Niners - I noticed the RS/RA thing too, but it's a recent phenomenon due to a couple of blowouts. Generally I've been running even in RS/RA, but I expected to win more than the usual share of 1-run games with this kind of team, so in this particular case, it may be somewhat sustainable to have a record better than the RA/RA would indicate....

Semp - thanks for the nod to Ichiro, I wasn't sure that any of my guys had hit HRs yet!

Chipper Ahoy!

Postby Semper Gumby » Tue Aug 08, 2006 6:23 am

Into the turd pool with Chipper after he spent more time on the DL than holding down the hot corner.

I figured he'd miss around 1/3 of the season but his card underperformed my expectations so I'll go it with Youk from here on out.

We'll see if Turnie can hold down the forte in the bullpen as my RPs have been just horrible outside of Lidge.

Niner spanked my as* good last night. Haven't seen a spanking that bad since the Doctor spanked my Mom after I was born. :?

At 17-28 my team now has more losses than a Tour team that started 1 full week earlier and is 40-26.

Guess I need to wait another week & then start another miraculous rebound.

And this with Bruntlett and Harris as My DH in games 2 and 3 respectively after Gomes got knocked out in game 1 of the series.

I just hope my success doesn't end up like it did last go around, lead for the majority of the season and then get outpaced in the last week.

Just a headsup for hawkeye - TBK Version II is gearing up for Season IV (2006) and he is quite welcome to return. :)

Rebounded with a sweep of my own last night, not in small part due to being at home where we could put a ban on all "OJ" in both Clubhouses.

Seriously, my team is living on the strength of 2 pitchers right now, Small and Beckett:

Small & Beckett 14-3
Rest of team 12-19

We need some better pitching from some of the other guys as the above mentioned pair can't carry us all season without help.
