Good News on new Lineup depth chart feature!

Postby LMBombers » Thu Aug 10, 2006 7:02 pm

This is copied from the ATG forum. Sorry if I have repeated myself in the online forum as well as this one but I wanted to share the great news!

Now if your starting RF is injured HAL won't put in your backup 2B who also happend to be a 5 fielder in RF to replace him!

[quote:9e154a3011="bernieh"]Good news...

I did a little bit of testing and it appears that 1) the SuperHal Lineup Depth Charts feature would indeed be a big improvement to the built-in lineup sub logic, and 2) the code would be easy to prepare for inclusion in the online game.

The only obstacle is building an intuitive interface for you to take advantage of the feature - hopefully I can find a good solution before too long. You can look forward to this enhancement a little bit down the line, hopefully sooner rather than later.

p.s. Don't ask me about the SuperHal Bullpen Logic at this time; that is a much more complicated system and is not as compatible with the online game. I do hope to consider it in the future.[/quote:9e154a3011]

Wow, No one found this interesting on the online forum either. I guess you guys don't care if HAL substitutes in a 4 rated SS when your starter is injured. :?

I care and would like to see it.

I'm just waiting to see if it shows up in the 80's engine or not and when we'll see it.

I'd really like SuperHAL bp management. That'd be a big step forward.

That would be awesome, and I posted about it once already. Nice to see it may actually make its way here!

I used to have Benzinger as my backup 1B, but it always used him in the OF when I had an injury, it was frustrating, since I drafted a good fielder out there specifically for reason like that.

It is not good news. It will yet another feature unavailable to the 80's game. BJS, get working on part two of that manifesto!

How about fixing the damn pitching logic TSN?

How hard is it to merely make the strategy settings reflect the CD-ROM version?

In TSN, conservative means liberal :?

Another great example today . . . Lou Whitaker goes down with an injury in game one of the series. HAL moves Buddy Bell from Third to Second (from a position where he's a 1 to one where he's a 4) and beings in Rance Muliniks to play Third (where he is a four). My preference would have been to bring in Oester to play Second, he's a 2 . . . so instead of an infield with two 1's and two 2's, I had one with a 1, a 2, and two 4's. Beautiful.

As for bullpen logic . . . I do notice that a team with 12 pitchers and aggressive bullpen use still seems to have a lot of complete games or long starts when the starter is struggling. Is there a mix-up, where the strategy for Conservative and Aggressive use has been swapped or something?
