1903-1959 Hitters/Pitchers Era Live draft

Postby aceventura55369 » Fri Aug 11, 2006 4:20 pm

Trey,

Once 4 teams are selected from an era it is locked.

I think it is fair to reverse the order in the FA portion of the draft. Anyone else have some thoughts.

Ok with me to reverse order for FAs after team picks. Although the round robin format gives the other team a better two teams to the one.

I'm fine with reversing the FA draft order.

Also, Tim said 80M, but the first post in this thread says 100M, right?

I'm VERY fine with a reverse FA order!

Gary, I think the 20's and 30's era is full now with 4 other teams before you. Ace, am I understanding the rules correctly?

I think that the order should stay like it is. The whole reason for serpentine to begin with is to allow for the balance of getting an early pick then a very late one. That allows the later 1st round pick to get the more balanced team. Example is Gary getting the 4th pick of hitter's teams but the 1st pick of pitchers. That being said it doesn't matter much to me under this format as my pick will simply go from 2-3 in the ERA I'm choosing from. Speaking of which does it make sense to divide into 3 separate drafts after the ERA's are decided?

On second thought, lets not change rules after the draft has begun. In the FA round you are only drafting with three other teams so it shouldn't be that big of a deal.

Gary's pick of the 1921 Giants is the fourth team selected from the 1921-1939 group so it is fine. We do need to know if you are taking hitters or pitchers though. I'm guessing hitters, but to make it official.

The first FA draft (1921 - 1939) is set on Penn's site with no clock for the weekend. 8)
