Original Keeper League (OKL) 2006 Season - We're Underway!!

Postby Ninersphan » Sun Aug 13, 2006 9:57 am

Had I known I was gonna get THOSE kind of results, I'd have done it weeks ago  .

Oh well. I'm pretty sure this team will be WAY over the cap for next year with my pick ups. Kazmir might end up as trade bait, if the other 4 guys all wind up as * pitchers. I'm also gonna be looking for LH bats cause as of right now it looks like my only LH bats are gonna be Schnieder and Chavez and maybe Patterson depending on how things shake out between Patterson and Mattews for CF.

[quote:28ed22d05a="ArrylT"]Talk about frustrating - getting swept at home by a team preparing for next year on the trade deadline night ... so not only am I pretty unlikely to make the playoffs now, I cannot even shake it up ... wish that sweep has come 1 night earlier LOL.

Oh well still have a decent foundation for 07 and we can still (hopefully) finish above .500 ... good luck to the playoff bound squads. :)[/quote:28ed22d05a]

Tragedy, AT, tragedy...

ANOTHER sweep for me last night. Unreal. All I'm trying to do is play out the string, set myself up for a high draft pick next year and my guys start to get as hot as they've been at any point this year.

Again, Unreal. It can't last.

Well that definitely was a must-win series that I could not afford to lose - but lost anyway. :(

Well 9 games left, but it looks as though all the playoff spots have been all but secured. Congratulations & good luck to Aray0113, AF Dickie, toshiro & vince0501.

Kudos to Aray0113 on a 100 win season. It is even more impressive considering no team will have lost more than 93 games max.

Want to win at least 1 tonight to finish with a record above .500. :)

[b:d344a13b7b]Team Awards:[/b:d344a13b7b]

MVP - Adam Dunn

His AVG might not be much to look at but he led my team in HR, Runs Scored, and SLG & was 2nd in OBP.

Cy Young - Noah Lowry

Led the staff in IP, ERA & K's. Probably could have had more wins if he wasnt up against the Aces of the league all the time. Pitched very well on the road :)

Rolaids Relief - Neal Cotts

Would have gone with Fuentes if he hadn't blown 10 saves.

Surprise Performance - Cliff Floyd

Outperformed David Ortiz at half the cost!

Disappointing Performance - Ortiz / Ellis

Ortiz was only ordinary, but when the guy ahead of him (Ellis) gets on at an ugly .314 clip he cannot take all the blame.
