Our Mystery Card games - The '70s Game, Back to the '80s, Back to the '90s

The changes continue on the Hammers, including a late-night trade to winning Ugly. Although I don't like starting 1-5, I am pretty happy so far with my starting pitchers. As soon as my bats get hot, i think that i am going to be ok. The big question is when exactly that will be!

Thanks for that tidbit Alphonso. :)

I'm probably going to keep him, but have to use my backup Uribe for now since Bowa is still on the DL. Guess we'll see how things stand in a couple of days. :)

Rebounded with another sweep, so I've gome 3-0, 0-3 & now 3-0. :)

Decided already, even without knowing the card, to release Nettles and pick up Pendleton ... now lets hope I don't get his 85 card (again). :)

I won my first series that wasnt a sweep, and Bowa came back just in time to see Uribe go down for 12 games.

The nature of the injury means I don't have Uribe's 1990 card, but otherwise it is still a mystery. ;)

Save for Bowa, I seem to be getting decent reveals ... not the best cards, but not the worst seasons either. :)

Team continues to slide, but no one seems to be really underperforming ... except Carew. :x

Team has rebounded, and most of my players are performing well ... probably going to have to cut Boone though ... I'm think I've got his '84 season. :(

So far, the team passed to me (in my 1st season here as a replacement) has been more treasure than junk... 23-13 start.

My team started very hot, with a 3-0 opening night before we could add/drop players, and that made me hold onto most players I'd wanted to change out. The players I eventually picked up on waivers have done quite well (Larkin .444-.475-.574, Forsch 4-1 2.02 Era 0.95 WHIP).

When 8 of my 9 regulars are slugging over .500, there's really no way I can complain about the team I inherited  Somehow my ballpark (Metrodome) favors my team... I am 16-5 at home, ~.500 on the road.

Injury Reveals... no bad news... some good news

Larkin's '89... highest average (.342), most balanced year 1L, but injury on 11... if he gets hurt, Guillen (.375 avg) is eager to see playing time

Gary Carter's '82-'85-'89... not his best year, but his stats so far (hopefully) indicate it's likely not his worst year either

Baines '80-'85-'88... not his best year, but stats and lack of >3 game inj's in two injuries so far so far (hopefully) indicate not his worst either

Al Davis's '89... .305-.422.-.496, with good balance 1L

Anyway, had some time, so I thought I'd post some early perspective, for anyone that actually cares about other teams. In any case, best of luck to everyone's treasure, or junk as the case may be.
